Tachometer doesnt work

Hello guys,

I just bought my first Micra after a looooong hunt (left hand drive). It's a Super S and has a tachometer, but it just doesnt work and is totally dead.

Any ideas where to start looking for the problem? I've tried looking for other topics, but all of them are about installing tachometer to the 1 liter model.

Check the tachometer cable and it's connection to the rear of the instrument cluster? B-)

Checked, there is no signal from ecu any idea about getting a replacement used one? Do I just plug it in or I need something else to make it work? Thanks!

Check one of the pins is not bent in the plug, or one of the wires has not separated.
Also it may have its own fuse.....just thinking out loud buddy.

Found a cut hanging cable. Looks like it comes from the dash and hangs near the ecu.

Looks like the earthing cable by the colour, looks like it could be the problem.
find the other end and splice, them together - hope that fixes it for you.

Changed the dashboard, the problem was in the tachmeter clock. Everything works now Thanks guys!
