Changes

I'm pretty sure My other thread was in the wrong topic, and since I'm getting another K11 this week I thought I would move it.

As you may be aware I have "SuperBat" As named by my cubs, All previous mentioned modifications should still be going ahead, Alloys will be going in it and my old 14" steels shall get a referb and go on the other one

Sometime this week I will be picking up my "new" k11, A white 3 door, 1L, 95 Reg one that has failed its MOT on various brake items, I plan on getting it through its mot before I start modifying it, As of yet I have not seen it
But its white, manual and a 3 door so I am having it o_O Hopefully Its not rusty, as for the cross member, if it need doing I'll do it, along with the rear arches if it needs them, both projects will be running along side each other, Good thing I have some spare door cards :p they shall be going on the white beast, Although I will be focusing on the white one for the moment lowering of SuperBat will still be going ahead in a couple of week ends.

I may see light at the end of the tunnel one day

Well, I bought the car, £80 seems like a bargain, turns out it does not need a brake pipe, It could do with some front tyres though, but my steels will be going on there soon, Inside in very clean, outside has a few dents still cleaner then mine only real sort of problem is the cross member has a hole in it :( not a big hole mind you ;) and its only done 82k, I have some blurry shots of him, he's been named Wilbur.

Can't agree with you anymore, although I am currently reduced to hiding this down an alley till I can get a buyer for my damned scenic..

Wheel trim removed and the steels sprayed black, ordered new discs and pads, wipers and bulbs and I cleaned and sprayed the brake pipe, roll on progress, Imma actually get stuff done next week since I'm not busy other then lowering LKK

Update to current situation, Wilbur is no longer hiding down an alley, he's at my dads works car park  Wipers are done so I was able to see on the drive down there  sadly he's gunna have to stay there till the scenic is gone.. the problem with him being there is that I can't do any work on him for his mot, Lowering this weekend on LKK I may even give her a wash  and lick of paint to the sills:rolleyes:

So, LKK got a much needed wash and a gearbox oil change to try and sort out the gearbox whine, sadly she is still whining in 3, 4, 5 and reverse, If she ends up needing a gearbox I may just swap the engine at the same time for a 1.3, which would seem logical in the long term, rather then changing the gearbox over twice.. also Wilbur was not able to come home :( He's still sitting in a car park..

Got new rear lights and tint coming, Also ordered some 1000w 6x9 speakers for my parcel shelf to match my sub watt so that I can wire them through the Amp. :)

Rear speakers wired into my sub, no pictures as its dark (ftw) but they sound 50x better then the olds but the old ones may find a position behind the rear door cards :) Lets wait and see

This weekend Wilbur is coming home, whether the scenic goes or not, Also, will be wiring up the old 6x9s behind the rear door cards, refitting the carpet, once the fluffy crap on the bottom is off, Need to rewire the sub switch so that it does not turn off the new 6x9s, mainly because I broke the old switch yesterday, will also be doing my new rear lights :) along with various stuff on Wilbur Sunday.

Had a busy day today, went to the scrappers, got both cars some presents And brought Wilbur home :), Finishing off tomorrow, found a fuel and boot release so I had the lot, along with some handles and stuff

Refitted release to LKK, refitted carpet, general clean on the inside, boot carpet is soaked in oil from my 5L can I had..
On the plus the boot is not going to rust now :p

I'm going to have to do something creative for dome more rear 6x9s to fit in, I'm thinking in the front doors.

Rear lights tomorrow!

Started work on Wilbur today, T-cutting, for about 20 minutes till I got too pissed off to carry on after finding out I broke LKK yesterday..

He is coming up nice after a lil bit of T-cut though :)

Brought some new brakes for LKK, 1.6 100NX ones, should be roughly a straight swap with a few washers, Getting ready for a 1.3 engine and gearbox swap, looking into the electrical fault on Sunday, may do some T-cutting on Wilbur if I get time Saturday afternoon But I'm doing all his repairs next weekend at work :)

I have also decided that, in safety wisdom, My current sound set-up is not safe, after melting the Amplifier fuse holder rather then blowing the fuse (correct fuse was in it) I have also decided to do this because running just my front is crap, Tweeters are broken (One fell off, the other just stopped working) I'm not certain on exactly how I will run it as of yet, but I will start by stripping all the old wires out and drawing up a fresh plan of assault, New front speakers, new tweeters, Current 6x9s on separate amp to Subwoofer, secondary 6x9s (without Amp) Subwoofer on current (Will need a fan cooler for added safety) I need to make my sound system safer, yesterday was a wake up call with the fuse holder.

Fixed LKK today, the non working instrument cluster turned out to be a fuse, for the interior lamp, so after I replaced that I set about fixing my current sound system so that it works and is relatively safe, then went for a nice long drive with added pleasure of a working dash and sound system. :)

Done about 4 hours work in 2 half hours today, done his front discs and pads, front tyres, rear wheel cylinders, clean and adjust rear shoes, brake fluid renewal, oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter, balanced rear wheels, clean and spray brake and fuel pipes and changed the spark plugs for Bosch super 4 ones, He will need a new exhaust some time soon though..

As for the lift I was doing, lets update it a little.

Done
Replace front discs and pads
Adjust and clean rear drums
Spray brake pipes for MOT
Remove lone wheel trim
Respray 13" steels black till I get the tyres for my alloys
Replace front bulbs and number plate bulbs

To-do

Fix the cross member
Clean engine bay
Fix driver side window
Fix driver side speaker
Make another parcel shelf with 6x9s

Nismo Front grill
Lower, slammed as low as possible.
Adjustable panhard rod
Do something fun, other then Fur with the head lining

Well, Wilbur went in for MOT yesterday, and I had to take him back in to work today because, you guessed it, He failed.
Unbeknown to me the MOT rules have changed and engine mounts now come into it... Yep, that damned cross member that I was going to completely replace when I got a super S bumper just got patched up early, meaning I'm skint now
Currently unsure which car I will be keeping, Since they are both doing my nut in right now, either way one is going, sadly..

Right, I have thought long and hard about this, I'm getting rid of Wilbur, for a number of reasons, sensible offer if anyone wants him, since he owes me over 300 quid now but I would prefer him to go to someone on here then some randomer who has no real love for him, he is a rust free shell though, he has been welded on the n/s sill before but its a good job and the cross member has just been welded up.

As far as LKK is going, or not going, as the case may be ;) she's getting a lot of attention this weekend, I will get the rear lights wired in, repaint the sills wire up the amp cut off switch, try and fix the damned sagging headlining, fix the aerial feed wire and have a general clean up all over, as for other bigger matters they will be done later, for now I shall leave these right here.

She got her new windscreen today, also done the rear lights, after finally getting the wires right, She has also lost her rear badge :( Ideas for a new one anyone? Gone back to the steelies for the mean time, I may just go with banded steels.

Notes to add* Car now has a whir when starting up, Think its starter, not 100% tho, also has extra knocking from the n/s/r and n/s/f, probs the other lower arm ball joint, rear I have absolutely no frigging idea on, I know its not from rust though, since that side is rust free :)

Only gone and bought some new wheels :D Picking them up this week end, then getting them resprayed, standard 14" wheels brand new? Yes please! I have no current interest from anyone on Wilbur so far, looks like he wants to stay ;)

Not getting the alloys now, the bloke selling them is f**king around so he can shove it, as for my car, got my uncle to have a listen to the gearbox and engine noise and he declaired, quite bluntly "The gearbox is ****ed"

New list for car**
Engine and gearbox are priority, swapping to 1.4 setup possibly with a lightened flywheel and paddle clutch.
Lower arms, get new ones and polybush.
Front drop links, polybushed
Front wheel bearings, noisey,
Weld o/s/r wheel arch Again..

So small list but big jobs.

Gearbox on its way, fitting it next Friday, along with drive shaft oil seals since I've heard that the seals don't like being disturbed?

Trying to find aerosol rattle cans to touch up my cars paint work, type in the colour code on google and it comes up with my car... Having loads of luck here

Right, so, This is the problem I had Saturday night
12387765_10208179053944675_429659221_n.jpg
Not the best result, around a round about but accidents happen
refitted it today after taking the rear slam bar off to fit the bumper onto it properly, should be good not, plus, apart from the number plate wires snapping :( there was no real damage, while it was off I fixed my number plate lights, put my old bulky LED clusters on, no flashing now

Yesterdays Exhaust results, Power flow rear box twin exit, exhaust is quite loud now, wait till I get my 4-2-1 manifold fixed :D

News on Wilbur, Still no interest on him, plus the bump strips I fixed back on have fallen off, noticed that when I raided it for the battery last week to start my daily (Left the amp on) If I get no interest on him soon I may do the sr20 conversion on him.

In talks with some guy who's interested in Wilbur, "Should* be going by the end of the month, which as it so happens is when The tax, MOT and current insurance runs out on the daily and up until yesterday I was looking at another car, Just a matter of deciding whether to keep the Micra or sell her.

After I posted Yesterday, Heres a update, Wilbur is defiantly going at the end of the month, That is Guaranteed.
As for my car Well It's being replaced after nearly 2 years of owner her, As to what Actually happens to her I'm not yet sure, If any club members interested then the current mods can stay, if She goes to some commoner then the mods are staying with me to be sold off to enthusiasts ;) She's going to be having a fresh MOT before she goes though.

Onto what Should (As long as long as plans go ahead) be Her replacement

It's a 1984cc petrol MKIV Golf GTI, I rarely get very excited over Volkswagens but at the price its up for I am with this one, Only thing I'm worried about are how much the tyres will cost being 18"

Hi mate
New to the site but thought I should tell you to steer clear of that particular golf gti
Slower than a dead snail and prone to overheating due to c#@p water pumps
And the electrics are somewhat iffy

She had a little fight with a Pheasant, safe to say she won but the Pheasant claimed the number plate :( Fitted my other, other bumper and moved the number plate back to the boot also put my wiper motor back on that I got off my donor boot

I've been putting a lot of thinking into getting this golf, I want a bigger car with a bit more top end ;) (although 96 in my standard 1l does seem quite good) My worry is that I'm not going to enjoy driving this golf as much as I do my Micra, What's everyone else's opinions? I take no offence to anything ;)

Decided to keep the Micra, rather then get the Golf, should also mention that fitting of the electric windows are in progress, also got pillar tweeters and lower springs to fit, put my alloys on and she has been renamed to Daphne. :p

Got my alloys back on! love them now with the smaller tyres, Unfortunately some ***Profanity remove by Moderator*** left me a nice big scrape down the front bumper.. So I have ordered a new front bumper and wings, now it's just finding a "nice" Orange.

Now lowered 50mm on the front, rears are 40mm, Need new rear wheel cylinders and a n/s/f calliper, waiting on the brakes to get low enough till I do the calliper, not sure whether to disc brake the rear.

Tons better lowered!

My Micra was by far the most fun I've had in a car. Not the easiest to live with or most satisfying to drive. But on small country lanes it was hella fun!

I have nothing good to say about the Mk4 Golfs. Too common, too heavy, bit wallowy.
The 2.0's were pretty gutless and the 18s will make the feel worse. A decently tuned 1.3 K11 will easily spank one of those in the corners and straights.

Haha, thanks, it was lowered 40mm before I got the Alto springs, Sits much better on the altos, As for the golf, The reasons I decided against it was lack of history and the fact I was certain I would not have as much fun driving it, quite a big thing for me, If I don't like driving it I won't like it in any other aspect of the car

Not done too much since the last update but here's a little rundown

The day after I lowered the front I got a puncture on the passenger side front, going along the motorway, that completely shredded the tire and buckled the wheel, luckily I had a spare wheel at home to replace it with..
12921020_10209130308925455_674203111_n.jpg
Nice huh?

At the same time I replaced two tires, both the passenger side ones as the rear had a unrepairable puncture but was not leaking, so better safe then sorry, and I changed them both to the front with 185 55 14s Generals (Cheap Continentals)

I also managed to find a new boot with a wrap around spoiler in black, That came home with me and went straight on, I then went back the next week and got the rear trim out of the same car, had all the door pockets and split seats

12939109_10209130308845453_647895485_n.jpg 12919153_10209130308205437_1475001711_n.jpg 12910368_10209130308685449_2080705441_n.jpg 12910178_10209130308365441_52608758_n.jpg 12935215_10209130308285439_281438861_n.jpg

I have yet to do something with my new front bumper, and shall be getting my alloys back on in the next few weeks

Hello again!
Been a while!
Lets get straight in there with some photos!
943804_10209137973797072_3987842346661710511_n.jpg
Remember that old colour coded front bumper I had? Well I finally Resprayed my new one and fitted it, Jap size plate fitted
12986642_10209403245988711_773903400_o.jpg 13148229_10209403245868708_560172867_o.jpg 13170774_10209403246188716_1869328417_o.jpg 13184677_10209403246308719_1628134928_o.jpg
I also Put my alloys back on, and lowered the back Again ;)
I might have also got carried away with the stickers

I then put my steels back on with out the 30mm rear spacers because of a certain "Scrubbing"
13262070_10209507025223127_1922995980_o.jpg
And that's where it stops.
Because it was at this point when the sill on the drivers side completely gave way and folded in on its self
She stayed like that for about 2/3 weeks till I got my new car.
13296105_10209600702885010_765887575_n.jpg 13313669_10209599682219494_1143377128_o.jpg 13324301_10209599682459500_730533053_o.jpg
Then work started on the Micra again, only stripping most of the modifications this time
13445611_10209698725015502_5409075834049589807_n.jpg 13442172_10209698725215507_3836772801931036755_n.jpg
Back on standard springs with the sexy wheel trims all the stupid wires are gone for the sub, the old boot is back on, while refitting the boot I noticed the extent of the rusty drivers rear wheel arch, going all the way from the front, to the rear of it, and that seems to have sealed her fate, She will be sold off cheap, to whoever wants her.
