Super Turbo

Wow, very cool, though it looks like it needs even more work than my white one did haha (white is the worse colour for body work on these cars), obv it came off the road due to an engine problem. Intake side possibly being turbo (I have asked for more info) which may mean alot of expense.

Are you sure about that? I have seen other ones on ebay but not this one.

I've just had a really close look at the larger photos. Looks like the thing has had a pretty messy history.

i remember it well cause i looked at it before and the rear boot catches reminded me

way to much money, 800 quid starting price! 800 would be my highest price if that

I have to agree actually. Its going to cost alot to put that back on the road in a nice condition, and thats assuming the engine is ok. It looks like its had minimal maintanace at best, and the fact it has things like spark leads missing is not a good sign!

indeed i have seen that on ebay about 6 times...

its a dog.... but its a very rare dog. how many people buy knakered beetles and minis?.......for loads more than theyre worth.

n/s rear light cluster uk spec
no arch extensions and side skirts on one side poss both sides
no holes for the arch extensions on either front or rear wings
been resprayed
door cards are not st ones (a mix between grey, brown and chrome handles)
digi clock missing
dash drilled and cut everywhere!
spark plug lead missing?
been stood for who knows how long
rear bumper been cut for latches
pins and latches everywhere so alot of holes if you put back to standard
tailgate been swapped to uk spec and number plate light moded on, sorry but lol

thats just what i can see from them pics
somethings not right with it i got a good feeling its a conversion, possibly a jap k10 bodyshell hence the jap vin number but with a st engine put in it maybe from mayalsia

Fordy - Not so, The March ST-R dont have any of what you have said is missing (other than the rear cluster) the kit tends to get ripped of in rally, so there is no point for it. They dont have a digital clock - any of them. They also dont (usually) have ST door cards. The Roll cage is a factory option, and they also have a different ECU map. They also dont have a radio! Basically anything cosmetic that adds weight is often removed, hence why the ST-R is lighter.

it may be in a pretty bad condition, but thats the fun in it, it would be great if someone took this, fixed and cleaned it up, it may be rough but it has the potential to be an awsome micra.

Indeed it does. But let me just say, it will cost more to get upto the standard of an equilivent one than it would be just to import one.

It would probably cost you £500 for the rollcage if you wanted to get one! Even at that price, it still seems quite reasonable for the accessories it comes with, & there's always the possibility of doing her up.

The spark lead could be innocent, I took one off my Escort before I sold it cos one on my Fez was broken.
Roll cages are quite expensive but I know someone that says he can get it done for material cost so I'll see how that turns out. I only want a semi cage anyway.

Anyone who buys this car without viewing it is taking a massive risk - the fact that the seller has said on ebay (scammer+liar's paradise) that it is ripe for a reshell must surely make you wonder whether it is rotten to the core and only fit for parts.

The engine and the cage have to be worth 800, then you have the seats and harnesses, the wheels and the glass. Looking is advised but you would make your money back stripping it down for parts.

depends - and im hoping ed may agree, lol

the engine is probably nearly worthless - it reads like it was taken off the road 5 years ago with engine trouble - the engine is probably worthless unless you could source all the parts!

I'm waiting for a reply on the engine issues. I really dont think that /most/ here have half the idea what such a project would involve. As I said it would be cheaper to import a working one, do not mistake this for a normal K10.

BTW Pete, got my ST running nicely solely on its own ECU now.

lovely stuff ed :)

i can only agree with the above - this is not a normal k10.

i personally think its quiet expensive for something that looks in that state.

I know it'd take a lot of work to restore, I'm suggesting breaking not restoration, though if the engine is FUBAR it isn't worth it.

Spoke to a friend today who does restorations etc. He said loads of work will have to go into this especially if it has to be made road worthy.
for a start there are leads in the engine bay that are not genuine manufacturers (always a bad sign).

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know where you could get one of these from in good condition, imported or not? PM PLEASE. Thank you.

I'd say mine or ed's could be bought if the offer tickled our fancy!

Is there anybody near this?

I live in Co Durham...(next door to durham about 10 minutes drive or ride)...

The problem is that I dont have the knowledge or experience of an ST to do an independent assessment on this...

I am not interested in buying this....(I don't think...lol)

...but since I'm just next door I would be happy to help any body our with checking / photographing etc of any particular bits & peices...

My offer stands if its any use to anyone....

Please let me know via PM...i will collect a few anddo everything in a one-er

Fordy, I'm honestly not bidding.
There is no way I would pay what it is on at the moment and it would cost me another £500 to get it here! If I had money to burn then possibly, and I would have either re-shelled it or stripped it for parts for the other two ST's.

Well somone paid 1019 for that..

watched the last few minutes of that sale...

hopefuly "antony" might register on here if he hasnt already and give us a good work in progress thread to read :p

It would not surprise me to see that back on the bay in a few weeks - either in whole or in parts - also the 999 bid is a tad dodgy too.....

Well i very much doubt its anyone from this club if they've been watching this thread! £1,019 that's a lot for something in that condition, hopefully the owner well either see sense and strip it, certainly make me happy, could do with an full electronic ignition system and decent inlet manifold.
