Steering issue

been using this car for months with no issues. daughter used it and said the steering just went like this? there is a new dent in the wing but she assures me she hit something due to the steering fault??? steering wheel has to be 45 deg to the left to centre wheels. both wheels move in same directions and correct orientation. so far checked steering fluid level and had a quick look underneath. can't see any track rod damage or play to cause it to be this drastic. going to pop it up on stands and remove front wheels to get a better look today. it's almost like something in the column has moved or pinion has moved in rack (if that's possible). i'm more familiar with motorcycle mechanics but cars are a bit new to me so any help would be great.

The only thought I had for something that would cause it to steer sideways like that is one of the universal joints between the steering column and the steering rack failing but it would generally start clonking about and have free play.

hi, no free play in column. found one of the o/s tracking rod ends may be at fault. probably replace both and see what happens
