Okay, i saw someone on here get some steelies powder coated white and i thought they looked pretty nice! So me being a sheep i've decided i'd like to copy the idea (unless they have a major objection).

What i want to know is the rough cost involved of getting hold of some 15 inch steelies if possible (new if cheap enough). Then i need to know the cost of powder coating (i am debating a red lip and either a black, grey or white face) and lastly i wanted to know if 195/45/15 tires will fit, and how much they'd cost me?

Oh, and does anyone know what 15 inch steelies share the nissan stud pattern that i can use when trying to source some wheels. Thanks.
 
not really, they would really benefit from 1mm spigot rings to make the hub a snug fit, I think the Safranes and Scenics used 15" rims.
 
when I did some research for steelies just over a year ago there were no 15 that were compatible...the closest I could find were 14x6 steelies from sunny gti

I have these on my fronts and are a great improvement from the 13x5 micra onnes.....the problem with 14 inch wheels is that there is becomming less and less choice / availabillity in good quallity low profile tyres

I originally had 175/50R14 on these but I couldnt get this size anymore....nor any low 185s so Im now on 195/45R14 theyre good handling though
 
14's or smaller are your friend. or if you wanna real ace look get the the standard wheels banded (about £35 a wheel) I think they would look ace banded.

hi,
can you show me some banded rims? I'm not quite sure what your talking about! I am only going to do this as a last resort if i don't find any alloys soon, though i may be changing to an XR3i soon as i miss my old one too much! This will mean someone can buy mine though or i may give it to my dad as he's rather attached to it hehe

ryan where is this price from, wouldnt mind checking it out as the cheapest i got quoted was £295 for 4 wheels.
 
i got mine alloys done at pharon powder coatings in box, wiltshire. just a little place. £40 per alloy and he sorted out all the curbing, £35 per alloy without the curbing.
 
Why don't you locate some K11 steel wheels the toddle down to the local company who will powder coat them, there is a disabled company who will do the for a donation and they do a damn good job I got mine done last week for £20 Remploy is the company name don't know if they're national.

The wheels many need sandblasting first, which is walnut shells not sand, due to some EU lunacy! makes sense some where

cool thanks. I've had my first interview today so all's going well so far =D got second interview next monday! First on the list is new tv + pc + small table, to free up tonnes of space in my room, then get the escort cabriolet, get some new rims and some lowering sorted.

May still sell my micra towards the escort, it's one of them ho wthigns go situations :(
 
centre bore vould be grinded out on a lathe though? MAY have some 14" alloys coming on the car IF i can find some alloy wheel bolts that fit. They need to be big enough to fit the studs, yet small enough to fit inside a thing spanner and into the holes in the alloys (i'll add a picture if your confused). Then i just need some decent tires with a lower profile and i'm sorted =D
