I recently ordered some NGK BCR8ES, and I just got a call from the fella saying they are now discontinued and that a suitable replacement would be NGK R5671A-8. Can anyone confirm that these are suitable for the ST before I send payment?? Cheers.

Maybe BKR7ES as 6's are listed standard,8's might be too cold for your application?Maybe I'm wrong though with the heat over there

yeah i'd go sevens, Ed and Baz were discussing this in a thread i made in here a while back so maybe have a look through

Odd BCR8ES are very common as far as I am aware. The only way you know for sure if the heat range is correct is by looking at the plug. 6 no no 7 possibly. would need to have a look. I prefer 8's for hard/fast road use.

Thats because the the code is BKR8ES

Cool, I have ordered the 8s to see how they go. I think I have been using 7s so I guess just trying a couple and seeing what I like the best is probably a good idea regardless.

I noticed once when I was looking for suppliers of those plugs that most listed them as being suitable for various UK models of card (Escorts etc) so it may just be that there isnt much demand in australia for them and they substitute with something that is more common over here...really not sure what the go is. Also the place I ordered them from is a place that specialises in hard to source parts...and I couldnt see any when I was doing the rounds of local stores...I guess its just a regional demand thing...
