A good spare wheel is good for when you have a horrendous front end blowout on the motorway.

When you say carry, you don't mean in the car? Most of those bits aren't the annoying spares you won't have around when you need them.

Oil (engine and gear), brake fluid, antifreeze, rotor arm, plugs, leads, distributor cap, WD 40, spare bulbs, spare fuses, valve caps, battery charger.... that can get you out of most fixes, the stuff you have, you'd generally know was going to go wrong for a while.

A spare sump plug?
