small engined estates...

im looking to swap my low ass mk3 polo for something more roomy, used to have an escort estate and tbh i miss the practicality and roominess. but being skint as, im looking for a small engined version, e.g. an old mazda 1.3 estate would be perfect...but theres not too many about and i was wondering what other similar models are available? budget of around £500. and dont worry, i still have have the micra(s)! any suggestions appreciated guys.

Have a nose at a Kia Rio.They look & drive ok,they use a small peugeot 8 valve engine & are cheap...

Took the back seats out of my Micra (3 door K12), bit of ply - piece of car carpet from eBay & a couple of hours labour mainly cutting the new carpet.
It's ideal for what I needed.
Converts back to 4 seats easily

The only draw back is the raised lip of the hatchback but I have thought of putting in a raised false floor which would overcome the problem as well as give me some good size hidden storage!
