Side trims on doors

What's the story with these side trims on the door. Is it special models have them pointed towards each other like in this pick as I prefer this look to the standard straight line I got on my se. Can they be swapped bought . What models were they on? Just tryna find more info . Thanks

I believe these were fitted on the 98-00 facelift, held on with self adhesive
