Shock absorber clunking noise

Hi,

I've just recently bought a shock absorber to replace my leaky driver side rear on my 1999 Nissan Micra.

I've tightened it but it still seems loose. When I drive over a bump I can hear a clunking noise.

Here is a picture of the shock absorbers I ordered.

The screw seems a lot shorter than my old shock absorber. So having to leave off the rubber bushing on the inside of the car.

I only replaced the leaking 1 for now. Was going to change in pairs but since having issues didn't fit the other rear side 1.

Any idea what could be causing the clunking noise? Anyone else had similar issues?

Mine is going in the garage in the next few weeks for a clunk, I can push down all four corners with NO noise it's only when on very rough roads, everyone I've spoken to believes it is the droplinks being worn out.
