Does anyone know if the First facelift 1.0 gearset can be used with the 1.3 diff? Would give me the leggy 1-3rd am after :)
Also, feel free to add others, such as the superturbo and 5 speed MA boxes if you have them, I'll edit into post. Remember, 4 speeds are RS4F, so feel free to start a new thread *5 speed elitist*

interchangeability is limited by the fact that that the final drive pinion is integral with the 2nd motion shaft eh andy (1 piece component)
and the 16de has a 5th gear lower overall ratio than ga14 ??

There we go :)
Yeah, 1.6 is shorter, wierd huh. Maybe the 1.6 revs slightly more happily than the 1.4?

according to that, these are the engine-to-hub 5th gear cruising ratio,s then andy

3,44
3.38
2.94
3.05
3.15
3.37

so a GA16 g/box cruises no better than all but the preface 1.0 ?

I guess, everyone who's fitted that box to a GA has been disapointed according to Ed (iirc), just has a beefier diff.

Also, 175/65R13 is tyre size for GA15, 185/65R14 is GA16 tyre size, a fair bit more diameter :)

Instead of swapping diffs, could you take the gears for 1st, 2nd and 3rd off a 1.0 box and swap into a 1.3 box @frank?
