Rough Idle

I've had the car a few months and when i got it the idle was nice and smooth. Then it got a bit rough (whole car shakes). Recently did a complete service on it hoping that would clear it up. Seems not. Appears to have gotten worse. The car will continuously shake, then get really bad for a second or two then carry on. If i turn on the heated rear window, the idle raises and it's a bit better.
Any help would be appreciated.

Throttle body? well the MAF in it.

I had a problem with mine, loss of power etc and low idle revs. turned out the dizzy wansnt aligned properly
 
I do have a slight bit of power loss now and then. So, how can i fix this and will it be expensive? :S
 
Thats the sensor for the later ones. What year is your car?

The earlier ones can be repaired or you can buy one thats been repaired and cleaned, like one from me on ebay!

If you have a prefacelift, it would be easier to just buy a throttle body?

im not sure with facelifts
 
L reg. so the early one. Must say I am interested in you "get out of jail free" card. so how may i go about repairing it then?
 
Search on ebay is a good place to start. Heres a link to one.

i beleive the 1.3 and 1.0 throttle bodys are the same, can someone else confirm?
