rocker cover removal?

Hi all quick question if i may i need to remove the rocker cover on my st to do the valve clearances.
i know to do this the engine needs to be hot to do this but i was wondering is it possible to take the rocker cover off without taking that large y piece off that goes across the rocker cover?

probably not, but that Y piece isn't the most complicated thing to take off, its a good time to check all the rubber hoses and get new clamps etc if they are biting too much
