Rocker cover painting. What paint?:S

Hey guys. Thinking about painting my rocker/cam cover, just wondering can i use normal spray paint? or does it have to be anything special.

If so what?

normal spray paint is ok, just make sure to clean up the cover really well (Y)

Normal paint just flakes, I personaly would have it powder coated for the best finish

Ive used halfords black enamel paint, bake in oven for 30 mins turns out nicely!

or use VHT paint from frost auto restoration

cheers for the info guys. so a normal spray pant would work? i do about 50 miles on motorway a day, does that mean its more likly to flake(not sure hot much it heats up, or even if thts the cuase of flaking).

i,ve always used bog standard paint (aerosol or gun) it,ll only flake if its not cleaned or prepped properly

i used hammerite brushed on, the finish was actually pretty good and hasnt flaked in the 7 months its been on

just sand it (not too fine, 280 ish grit) and wipe it with thinners

i always base it with colour (just enough to cover it fully), then spray loads of lacquer ontop (6 heavy coats maybe)
