Review of K13

How do people find the K13, I'm thinking of going from 12 to 13.

It doesn't have great reviews on most websites, but I've been a Micra fan for 10 years and am reluctant to change.

Is it as bad as people say, or still worth purchasing?

Thanks

I LOVED Mine. Follow the link HERE, you'll see I wrote fairly in depth about it before its untimely death.

There's not a great deal of K13 owners around these forums, so feel free to take this to PM after you've read my thread.
I cannot stress enough how much fun it was to drive, mine was a facelift DIG-S Tekna. That's the top trim level, and honestly, it's worth paying a bit more for the top of the range model.
The supercharger provided an excellent boost in acceleration, which made it great fun to drive, whilst retaining 60mpg. If I could afford another, I'd be at a Nissan dealership tomorrow.

Thanks for the info

It has such bad reviews.

I've been a fan of Micras for so many years, so I will probably go to a 13 when the day comes to change.

You won’t be disappointed I don’t think. Go take one for a test drive, then make up your mind! The only person that has to like it is you!

I currently drive a basic spec 1.2. I bought it as I'd dropped hours at work and wanted a car I knew I could afford to run and had a timing chain (no expensive belt changes hopefully). I added some alloys and bits to it aswell (see pics elsewhere on this forum) and I think it looks nice.

I've had it about a year and a half and had no problems at all although the paint can scratch a little easily.

It is not an exciting drive. It has a lot of room in it for such a small car.

The only reason I am thinking of changing it is the image if I'm honest. I'm almost 40 with two kids and feel I probably should be driving a bigger saloon or something a little more prestigious. Lets face it whenever you're driving it, it's not going to impress anyone. Lol! Yes, I know that is shallow.

However, I can't fault the car.

I have one!

Its a nice car, feels a bit light and tinny but it is quite nippy enough and comfy (although id say the seats are too soft).
The steering is super easy and it has enough power to keep up with the traffic.

Its also great on fuel too :)

That’s one thing I forgot to add, the fuel economy is excellent. I saw as much as 60mpg!

Thanks for the information.

I'll check one out...

My K12 is amazing, 60,000m without one breakdown, just like my old K11 which never broke down, built like tanks.

If they continue the quality with the K13, I'll be happy to get one.

The realibility of K13 is better than K12,Nissan did a lot of improvements relate to K12, The reviews are not bad as you described,I think that the K13 is excellent car also the fuel consumption is very low and there is a lot of room,K13 is cheaper than Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris and the fuel consumption for 1200cc is better than Kia picanto,Hyundai I10,Suzuki Swift,Mazda 2. Not all the peoples see all the advantages of K13 and give a opinion on the simple dashboard.
The new micra K14 come with renault engine and not with japanese engine,Recentlty Nissan start to integrate Renault engines,I hope that it will not damage the cars realibility.

Thanks for the info..

Many reviews you could get more for your money elsewhere, so its good to hear people's experiences here. I've been using Micra for so many years, and they've been good.

I love the sliding back seat on the K12, use it all the time, and was disappointed they stopped it in the K13.

I've had really terrible experiences with Renault, so would be very nervous about getting a Micra with a Renault engine - but perhaps things have changed.

The K12/K13/K14 consistently get poor reviews for valid substantive reasons by all its stakeholders other than by predisposed biased Micra enthusiasts on here. Perhaps we should be asking and enquiring why the reviews are consistently poor?

May I suggest that it may be more accurate to get the data information to inform ourselves and benefit from the hands on experience of other impartial non Micra enthusiast owner drivers in order to substantively compare their experiences with other similar size/class competitors’ vehicles?

The following references give examples and further links on to some of the info that is available in the public domain to make unbiased evaluations of the disadvantages/advantages to draw your own conclusions of what is most important to you?

Thanks for the info.

I thought the K11 and K12 were superb quality. I've had the K12 for 10 years, it hasn't had a significant brake down, same experience with friends who own one.

I'm a mechanic specialising in jap cars, mainly Mitsubishi and Honda. My personal every day car is a 2014 k13 digS micra. I love it, it goes and stops well, no road tax and it's amazing on fuel.

Yes the clutches are weak, rear wheel bearings are common and front lower arm bushes are just a poor design.

But I'm a happy owner, I can do the work myself and order all parts from autodoc in Germany, they have a great selection and i wont use the cheapest bits.

Admittedly i have lowered and uprated the suspension, put brembo brakes on, put lower profile tyres on it to take some load off the clutch, and put a decent stereo in it.

But I must admit, now I'm micra mad!
