Removing wings

Has anyone removed the wings on their K10s? Was wondering how much hassle is involved, how many bolts I'm likely to shear etc. I want to take them off to kill the rust that's growing behind the front wheel arches & thought this was probably the best way to fully clean it up. Tried Mr Haynes but there was no info there, looked pretty straight forward tough?

yes mate ive done this its very easy

open the bonnet
remove grill
remove front bumper open the door on the side your removing theres a bolt at the top to remove, rachet with extender bar will get at this, next remove the mud sheild in the front wheel arch to access another bolt near the bottom of the wing.
next remove the bolts along the top of the wing, remove the side light.
theres a cross headed screw holding it at the front or the car.

there may also be some sealant holding the wing on along the topcarefuly hack it out ideally with a platic chisel or something non-metal to avoid scratching paintwork.

the wing should then come off very easy

Cheers mate! What condition were the bolts in? Guessing the top and door side are fine but did you have any probs with the more exposed ones?

Did you reseal the wing when you put it back?

all the bolts were fine mate didnt have any issues at all

i did seal the wing tbh its not really necessary thats in my opinion
