To replace the bearings normally.

bolt your wheel back on and give it a good tug.

It was for to fit longer studs .

Can you remember if the back of the hub (where the studs go through) if it was a flat surface? I thinking about redrilling the pcd so I can fit some 114.3 or 108 wheels.

It wasnt flat mate, there where recesses where the studs went.

IIRC the studs can be removed with the Hub in situ. There should be a place which is cut out, you line up the stud and then give the stud a whack with a lump hammer and bobs yer mothers cousin
