Just bought a 2004 Micra XS 1.2. I think I read somewhere that the recommended engine oil spec is 10/40 semi-synthetic. Is this correct and do you guys recommends a particular brand or would the best quality available from the local motor factors be ok?
The oil is nearly due for a change, judging by the service record, but I am quite concerned about the much reported timing chain stretch due to 'poor quality oil' or 'not changing oil at recommended intervals'.
