Rear Window not demisting ??

Ive replaced the fuse but on the dashboard the button for the rear window demister to stop it steaming up isnt lighting up, ive replaced the fuse but to no avail. What is the likely problem, ive checked connectors on rear window and they look ok.

Any tips appreciated

it maybe the switch itself or a break in the wire some where. you will need check if power is coming to the switch with a multimeter.

where would you connect the multimeter, ive not used one before, are they easy to use ?

ill put a pint of beer on it being the wires between the boot and the car itself - operating the boot open and closed breaks the wires here!

ive fixed many because of it!

i did a rover 25 about 2 weeks ago because of it

can i just find the break in the wire and rejoin it ?

if you find the break and repair i couldnt see a problem with that.
rather than replace the whole shibang!

Check the flexible boot between the bootlid and the car, mine broke TWO wires inside this. One for the Rear no plate lamps, and one for the demister. Use a couple of heatshrink connectors to fix them

Also check the relay for the demister
