rear axel advice please?

First i'd like to say hi to all and mention this is my first post on here.

I've got a problem with a micra i bought only a few months ago.
the rear wheels seem to be angled inwards
(like this: \--/).
anyway i think this is what might be causing the rear tyres to wear down on the inside, it's just gone through a pair of pirellis in just 3 months.
It's also very twitchy on the back end when I go over the smallest bumps.
when the guys at ATS replaced the tyres they said that they had worn down so quickly because of being slightly buckled, however another mechanic I know said it might be the rear axel.
its always best to have an idea of what it might be before taking it to a garage... so does anyone have any Ideas?

if the wheels are leaning out like that then its probably a bent axle, has the car been in an accident at all ? hit a kerb side on or something like that ?

do your wheels tilt like this ?

cheers for the reply sonic,
yes it looks like that on bothsides of the back, but the angle isn't as steep.

I do suspect it been in an accident before I bought it, but nothing came up on the HPI check.

How much would I be looking at for a new rear axel at the local scrappy?
