I previously had a 1997 1.0 and cannot recall the radiator fan coming on in all the time I had it.
I now have a 2001 1.0 and have found it comes on frequently. On cooler (typical British) days it is likely to come on when stationery for a few seconds or at lower speeds. However on the warmer days, such as the weekend before last, the fan seems to stay on constantly right up until the moment I switch the ignition off.
Is this anything to worry about or an indication of any underlying problem?
