Question about Rear Bumper Fit on Micra K11 Facelift 1.0 SE Automatic

Hi I am new to the forum. I have a Micra K11 Facelift 1.0 SE Automatic. It is a 51 reg just over ten years old and was previously owned by an old lady and had only done 7068 miles the day that I bought it in January this year. I have previously had 2 K11 Micras and a K12 Micra (which I didn't like as much as the K11 due to the problems that it had with remote entry) all on Motability. My latest K11 facelift Micra called Millie is my own car. It has just come back from being repaired as just under a fortnight ago I was rear ended in it by a speeding driver who hit the rear bumper offside when he attempted to pull back after trying to over take me without due care and attention when there was another car coming the other way. The bumper was split and has been replaced with a new one which has been painted to match the car as per the spec of the K11 facelift - Burberry red on mine. However when the tailgate is opened and you look down at the bumper there is a gap between the edge of the bumper and the Micra's body this is not uniform and its width varies along its length. I will take a photo of it tomorrow and post it here and will also be ringing the repair centre to check about this as I am wondering if the panel behind the bumper was damaged/ pushed in when my Micra was hit by the speeding driver and that the repairers have not bothered to repair the panel if it was damaged it as it is in an unseen place being covered by the bumper. I wondered if any other Micra owners can verify if there should be a gap between the edge of the bumper and the panel that is viewable when the tailgate is open.

I love my little Micra and she is a real bargain having done so few miles and I hope to have many happy years worry free motoring in her being disabled means that I rely on a car as I have problems using buses and trains - accessibility issues and so want to look after her so that she will last a long time. All the reviews that I have read about buying a used Micra K11 / K11 Facelift have all been positive as to the car's reliability and cheapness to run in terms of petrol and insurance etc.

Hi

This is the new bumper trim offiside:

This is the nearside bumper trim as you can see they have just taken the existing one off of the old bumper and so now Millie has one new rear bumper trim and one used rear bumper trim which is a different colour as it is faded I am not happy about this:

I am waiting for Nationwide Crash Repair Centre to call me back but am also trying to find a new nearside trim and if I am successful will ask my neighbour to fit it for me.
