Right some of you at JAE might remember me saying I'd bought a new turbo instead of the GT15 which was off a diesel and was slightly wet with oil...
So what I've bought is a T25 go big or go home I guess!

So what I've bought is an upgraded pulsar turbo brand new never spooled from eBay for £75 bargain!
This one means there will be no silly drilling and tapping holes to relocate the GT15 waste gate as this one is completely rotatable to any configuration.
So today I decided to pull it apart to see that I could pull it apart haha!
Have some pictures because I guess I like you lovely people ;)

Turbine wheel!

Compressed wheel.
It feels lighter than the GT15 even if the t25 is considerably larger in size.

Dude that's a precision peice of kit... Which is new... and ur taking it apart.. wtf. Please tell me that ur not rotating the shaft oil free as well. Also without sounding terrible t25 isn't all that big. Its probs a really good size for the micra. I shall be following you in to the realms of t25

Indeed it is :)
Well it was completely rotated the wrong way for the way I plan on making the manifold... so as least now it will just be a small adjustment rather than a huge one.
No I'm not rotating the shaft I'm simply rotating the core of the turbo so the oil lines are correct...
Need to find me a way of plumbing some nice coolant lines to it too.
It is pretty huge against millie mate me and chloe were under the bonnet and thinking DAMN we need to make room for this haha.

Ohhh I see. Good man. Yeah I suppose room wise its big ish. Yeah t25 is the next step for me. I will let you know how it boosts compared to the t2

Before I rotated the oil lines were horizontal now lovely and vertical.
It's going to need a modified slam panel and I may have to use bonnet pins... much to my hate of them.
Sounds great mate!

Might be a bit late in the rev range you will pick up boost. But when you do it will hit hard . if my understanding is correct and I haven't forgotten the numbers
Well the car isn't going to be used for track days I just want to be able to hold my own against other faster cars... get millie to pick up her skirt and run so to speak.
Ideally it's suited to a 1.6 engine.
But I thought the compression in my engine is already up due to the head skim and tbh she likes to rev hard now so I guess we will see... miles away from all that yet ill get it positioned and hopefully the rest shall fall into place.
It's quite a heavy turbo I'm more concerned about making the mani self supporting.

the most boost my TD05 could muster was half a bar iirc (@7k rpm) so i just wired the w/g shut :)
they,re designed for a 2.0 petrol engine eh, so they only reach half speed on a 1275

My understanding was that the wastegate regulated the pressure when your off boost? So with yours wired shut I'm guessing this stopped lag time?

wiring it shut stops any boost creep tom, because as you can see the actuator starts to move before the desired boost level is achieved (unless you have a sophisticated boost controller)

The excess boost will surge through the turbo BTW tom. But due to the larger nature of the turbo and the low boost produced. It won't be too critical.. If anything I would still vent it and do it properly. Saving the turbo and extending the life.
I kind of want to extend its life lol ill still be venting it don't want to weld up a new one :)

Electronic Boost controllers are worth the money apparently. I will also be buying one of those. Stops creep. Allows venting. Also acts as a boost guagr.. Bam. 2 in 1

I've had a look at these too :) tempted to go mighty car mods style and get a GFB response...

Fcuk mcm. Just read reviews of current ones. Profec range is a good buy from what I have read. Might treat myself to the oled one. Do what's best for ur setup.
Haha lol.
Not heard of them... I'll have a look now :)
I'll speak to Ed and see what he suggests :)

He sells in gizzmodo or something along those lines. That's a simple but effective one. Depends how serious you want to be when doing the turbo build. Simple is better... Less to go wrong. Then leave the WG to avoid over boosting on solenoid failure

Needed new brakes!

Eww...
So bought these :)

Saw some people have painted disks to stop rusting painted in graphite gray :)
1413478392219.jpg

Got Chloe to fit them practice makes perfect and all that :D

Then gave her a wash because she was well dirty ;)
good day :)

No loss of coolant... However it does like to bubble coolant from the rad back into the expansion tank after she's been on a drive open the rad to find the rad is low and the tank is a cm over max...
