One last update before JAE

I got some dial rings...

Then the 1.3 SLX dials arrived

301510_10150429627558079_820398078_11005465_800874959_n.jpg

now on the box it says the rings just pinch into place....... eh... not a chance I had to sand down the curved edges so the rings could clamp onto the surround!!!

Then a few hours after the dials arrived, I fitted them at a friends house. All I did was remove the cowling, remove the 3 plugs from the back of the old dials... and plug them back into the new dials...

The clock doesnt work (I knew about this), the clear perspex panel over the dials is scratched to #### and the tempreature gauge doesn't go up to half way... But I am SO happy with them and is amazing to have them... was never allowed to modify my Primera, got a huge buzz from doing this.

Getting an oil and filter change 2mo :)

Didn't even know these were available, they look fantastic :). Oil and filter change is a great idea, I do mine every 5,000 miles. The Americans think we're insane the way we do oil changes in this country. Over there, 3,000 is considered standard and 5,000 if you're not into cars. They consider putting 300,000+ miles on an engine absolutely normal, we think we're clever if an engine gets to 100,000 :(.

yeah totally different driving/ caring ways towards the car over there... I think one of the caddilacs over there can go over 100k without needing a service and its a petrol!!!

Anyways... few pics of the car looking its best yet at JAE along with a few badges, stickers and LED lights.

Good to see the dials have gone to a good home! Regarding the temperature dial I'm pretty sure it did work. When I crashed i snapped the radiator in half and shattered the coolant container, and that thing shot right up.

Those chrome rings look really good, such a nice little mod! As for the digital clock, what I had been planning to do (but never got round to) was finding an old dial-set down the scrapyard and having a go at swapping a working one in, maybe something for you to try as you have a spare set of dials?

The clock is no trouble man, it would be nice if it worked but there we go :) I knew the situation so nothings gonna come of it and im not gonna be fixing it :) and the temp gauge again I aint gonna do nout about it, the speedo, petrol and rev counters work fine, which are the ones that I want to see work... and the nissan temp gauges from my experience don't normally read accuratley anyways lol

Anyways big step today the Sr20de came out of the donor car

A black but healthy engine :) cams are in good nick etc so all is good... although they are going and JWT S4's are replacing them!

Not sure wether to just fit the engine and drive it, or leave it till after winter and re-build the engine for now...

but yeah so happy the engine is out of the car! Also fitting the front two seats out of the car too... I'm trying to source the K11 heated seat switches panel and fitting the heated pads into the seats too.

_8078436.jpg

leatherrrr B) - I don't really care that they are for 4 doors... just means the seats have to be put forwards for people to get in now lol its like the cars becoming a mini Primera :)

Well the car has become very poorly as of late.

Release bearing in the gearbox is making some awful noises now. rattles like mad when idling and cruches every now and again as you're driving along. also clutch has started to slip.
Chain rattle is still really bad, but i can't be arsed sorting that as it costs too much
oil needs doing, it's not in good shape anyways and ive covered 7k now and i feel sick knowing its not been done
oil filter hasnt been changed for 12k now
and it hasn't been washed or polished since JAE!
also today it flooded, and quite bad too.

So today ive put the engine ^^^ up for sale and hopefully the funds from that will be put towards replacing these parts

Starter motor
HT Leads (magnacore hopefully)
sparks
dizzy cap

after that, ill be replacing the clutch/ release bearing.

I'll be running the micra along side my Primera in the following 2/3 weeks. So the leather front seats never made it into the Micra either, they went into the p10, just a few pics.

AP racing.

now enjoying slip free, smooth gearchanges once again and surprisingly it pulls a lot better too ?

Re: Floor mats - Are the rear mats just little squares or are they shaped out properly to slightly under the seat? I bought some OE Mats from Nissan a few years ago for £30 (Slightly different from yours with the earlier K11 fonts) the 2 fronts fitted well, the 2 rear ones were sort of square shaped, not like the ones I had previously seen, they fitted in the immidiate footwell area but were not shaped to go under the seat like the older mats (Probably a cost-cutting excercise no less). Not happy with them I went and bought a couple of OEM sets off ebay from breaker cars. Cost less and they were properly cut out:

MicraatEdgbastonReservoir6.jpg

I think it would be easier to explain if you could bash a pic of the rear mats in your car.

Ta,

Yeah the rear ones are just small rectangle ones man, they don't go under the seat, they fit in the gap from where the back seats start, and where the back bolts for the front seats are.

I'm gonna see if I can be fussed finding march mats. I'm not spending more money on the car ATM, but I would like a proper nice set of mats... another thing I don't like is they are black mats when the interior is a bright grey!

Last week I handed the car over to a friend to get the Nismo side spat Replicas sprayed and fitted, door handles colour coded and the rear drivers wing dent sorted out... also a little welding needed to be done in the drivers rear inner sill.

mymicrasidespatspasss.jpg

Then on drivers side here is a picture of what it looked like before

Now:

micradriversside.jpg

Quite annoyed as he had it for 5 days, and didn't remove the glue from the bump strips... however a wash to remove the **** that sat behind the bump strips between the glue has made it look a little better. Now waiting for a proper nice day to remove the glue.

Next month I hope to get a front super S bumper and then get them sprayed and fitted :)

How did you/your friend get the spats to fit in the end, as i've just bought some myself? And how much modifying was needed on them?

We looked at a few (there were only a few lol) pictures of micra's/ march's with them fitted, and found that they had a bolt attatching them to the inner lip on the rear wing, and then we just bonded them to the car with tiger seal... they won't be going anywhere soon LOL

FUPP! That a shiz load of baccy! Where was all that hiding? Cars looking grand btw!

haha :p :p It was all under the back seat! Must of been a "just incase I run out" thing so he forgot about them until they were needed. There was one un-opened one haha. Thanks mate, I feel the car is actually getting somewhere now in terms of looks :)

Yeah, i've tried looking for some too but have only found one, and the picture isn't close enough to see how it's fitted. Did you have to cut anything off them, or did they go on as they were?
