power steering (i think)

wonder if anyone else gets this or knows what to do,

i've just bought a 1998 k11 1.3 si, but when i put it on full lock to turn around it squels like a ######, this only happens when its just been started not when i've been driving around for a while, im a little stumped at what this is, i think it might be something to do with the power steering, cos my 1997 1.0 shape never done this and it never had power steering

any help appreciated

yep, that sounds like the power steering pump, check the fluid reservoir is topped up, and the drive belt is tight, if they are ok and it still makes the squeal then the pump is probably on its way out.

yer im was like that so i topped it up and it dont do it no more.

if its low on oil look for leaks around: Pas pump, Steering rack piping unions, pas oil cooler piping and check every pipe going to and from the pas pump.

the pas oil is red in colour, and to top it up use ATF fluid (automatic transmission fluid)
