I reckon mine is beginning to go
so i rang up a couple of nissan dealers and an independent gearbox specialist.
First nissan dealer service dept said they'd get a mechanic to test drive it and give a verdict from that.
Second nissan dealer service dept said they would first of all have to eliminate that it wasn't worn brushes by replacing them. If still problematic after that, replace powder clutch.
Gearbox specialist said they would test it by warming the gearbox up first then they would disconnect the brushes to ensure no current was getting through and see if gear lever still stuck when shifting from D to R etc, if it did stick, then the powder clutch is on the way out.
Whose diagnostic method is the best ?
