Poor Fuel Economy

Hey Guys, me again, with yet another problem with my micra. :(

Just after your thoughts and wisdom. :)

So just had the chain replaced and thought all my problems were now good and i could start to enjoy my new micra (well new to me), however i've noticed the car doesn't seem to be doing well on the fuel economy front. On the last two occasions i've put a tenner in as soon as the petrol light comes on and managed to get a mere 45 miles before the light came on again....now i'm no major car techno person, butttt im pretty sure it should be giving me better fuel consumption than that.

Its a 2003, 1.4sx

If anyone can tell me what it possibly is, would be much appreciated!!!

Based on the average price of petrol being around £1.31, £10 gives you 7.63 liters convert that to uk gallons and that's only 1.67 gallons so your getting around 26mpg which is shocking

Have you serviced it recently, new filters, plugs, fluids and got your tyres at the correct pressure?
