please cure my micra

hi there im new to this forum
have a problem with my sisters micra its a 2004 1.2 se model
had the loan of it for the last two days and noticed it was never idleing 100%
so i went tinkering with it unfortunaly and i plugged out a connector on top of the engine,{the one next up from the oil cap}, while the car was ticking over and the car cut out so i plugged it back in again and it starts fine but theres a waning light on in the dash now and on the display it is telling me to contact my local dealer it also went go past 1500 revs
is there any easy solution to this problem or what have i just done
many thanks

sounds like its in limp mode, needs to be reset, some garages can do this, but i think its generally a main dealer thing.

hi,

when ever the connector on top the engine cover is removed the idle does rise cause the ecu idling gets resetted, this can be corrected using the diagnostic computer , and reduce rpm to normal or it has an option for this particulat problem. no worries , its simple.
