Opinion on Corrosion

Hey guys, I'm new here and just wanted a few honest opinions on my car.

I have a 1994 M-reg K11 1.3 LX, only covered 66,000 miles. I've owned it for about 4 months now, its my 1st car. Engine's in fantastic condition, but the bodywork and chassis is a different matter. It was left sat on my driveway for about 12 months when my dad had it, and basically nature's taken its toll on the Nissan reliability.

Here's a few pics of the underpinnings:

Is it worth getting the problems sorted, or is it just surface rust?

Thanks in advance on your opinions :)

I think most of that is treatable, wire brush the loose rust off and paint the remainder with kure-rust or any other rust remedy, as for the rear axle, its pretty easy to remove it and sort out the rust off the car, if you like a replacement can be got from any scrappy for about £30. After you treat all the rust give all the box sections a good waxoiling to prolong the life of the car.

time to get busy like sonic said wire brush (you can get a drill attachment if your lazy like me) red oxide or other rust stopper then underseal. all in all a few days work but worth it to save a otherwise sound car!

Thanks for the opinions guys. Think I'll start work on it in a couple of weeks. I'll have to do it in stages cos I need the car for work, unless I can borrow a car off a mate while I'm doing mine.

I'll keep you posted how it's going anyway, might end up opening a blog on it.
