oil pressure

Right, fitten my oil pressure gauge yesterday, plug wouldnt come out of front of block so tee'd into oil pressure switch, all good. but i think its far too high, and i cant see that it relieves its self at all, now my k10 used to relieve at about 60-70psi ish iirc, but the 11 doesnt, it has good oil pressure on hot tickover but its very high from starting cold and getting upto temperature.

my gauge goes upto 100psi and i can get it to the top.

any ideas / input?
 
thats what i was thinking frank, but cba with taking the filter off if my figures were normal, or similar to other peoples.

out of interest what should the relief pressure be?
 
they,re built into the pump eh scott, and 100+ sounds very high to me (filter bursting high :eek: they,re only a thin steel casing eh)
 
so there not at the back of the filter like on the MA engine? yer 100+ is high, now ive got the gauge i drive accordingly to keep it below about 80 ish , ill have to inspect one of my spare pumps to investigate.
