offroad endurance micra

Hi everyone

I'm building a micra 1300 for offroad endurances races here in Belgium (2 hours of doing laps in a field with 60 to 80 other cars)

here are a some (crappy quality) pics of the work in progress:

The main problem I have is the rear axle, it is very close to the ground. As you can see in this pic, the axle is very low compared to the center of the wheel.

I would like to find a way to get the axle further of the ground. Any ideas? (apart from putting bigger tires on)

Are there any other rear axles that could fit? K10, toyota starlet, vauxhall nova, ...?

help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Yes, I have been thinking about that, but I would have to outsource that to a professional welder to get it done OK.
I would like to keep that solution as a last resort :)
 
well it may be that! as every car is different, say you can get small bits to interchange, but not a large structural part as that
 
it may be possible to fit a peugeot torsion bar rear suspension set-up. would require a low point on a cage or strengthened chassis mounts, but the whole set-up is really very small.
