Nissan March/Micra 1.0 to 1.3 Conversion Problem

SOLVED

Greetings from Hawkes bay, New Zealand. New to the forums so apologies if i have not followed appropriate guidelines.

I have 2 Nissan March/Micra K11 cars. One is a 2001 Nissan march with a CG10DE engine and automatic transmission. The other is a 1998 Nissan March with a CG13DE and CVT Transmission. Neither have NATS and both are facelift models. The 2001 model has Electronic PS and the 1998 model standard Hydraulic PS.

The Project: The 2001 marchy had a blown head gasket but a solid transmission. The 1998 marchy had a faulty CVT Torque converter but a solid engine with low kms. Both cars run but with respective issues.
The project i am almost finished with is to drop the 1.3 engine into the 1.0 body, bolted up to the 1.0 Transmission. I have done a heap of research especially in this forum around swapping out the 1.0 for the 1.3. Most if not all people have said the 1.3 swap is fairly straight forward plug and play and that it is not difficult to achieve.
Have currently dropped into the 2001 march the 1.3 engine bolted up to the 1.0 transmission. All wiring is plugged in and original. Original meaning i am running an uncut loom with the 1.0 ECU. Only difference to the vehicle is the engine itself being a 1.3 and parts i had to change were to use the 1.0 distributor, alternator and throttle body from the 1.0 as they had different plugs.

The Problem: I am not getting any power to the Fuel injectors nor is it Firing the injectors. There is spark and fuel pressure but no signal to the injectors. I have checked respective fuses and they are all intact. I tried using the 1.3 ecu and that provides power to the injectors but no spark - which confuses me. Reminder that both engines ran fine in their original state.

I am a mechanic by trade but mediocre with electrical. Only the Basics. If anyone has any ideas as to why i am not getting power to the injectors would be massive as i am 99% done just cant get the damn thing to run. Haven't tried running the car on engine starter but im sure it would fire with the 1.0 ECU.

Thanks for the fast reply. Quite possibly what's going on aye, I will check background on cars as to whether they are NZ new or imported. Any ideas on ways around it? Have studied wiring diagrams as to how the injectors are powered but no luck on understanding the difference yet. I just cant understand why it wont run when it all plugs in and the only theoretical difference is the displacement. Unless i am missing something. I will do some more basic checks tomorrow just in case its something silly.

i ran 1.3,s on 1.0 ecu,s for many years, so its not displacement
the injectors are signaled via earth eh, so have they got a constant live feed ?

No live feed with the 1.0 ECU Plugged in, but with the 1.3 ECU plugged in there is live feed- but no spark. I'll confirm this and that there was a live feed tomorrow and it wasn't my imagination.

Just check wiring from dizzy connector to ecu? Not that it is easy practically but theoritcally measuring this is. Or I don't get it what is going on what might be the case. I loomed a Ga16 to Cg13. But engine loom has to be talking properly with the rest in the Micra itself. I hope this message of me is helpful in the thinking process.

Hi guys took a bit of a break but back at it again thanks for the help and ideas so far. I have made some progress. I found a 1.0 ECU out of a march that i am adamant had no NATS system incorporated. Plugged it in and tested both spark and power to the injectors and voila! Now i have both - but turning the engine over the car still wont run or even fire. Spraying brake cleaner/engine start into the throttle body fires and runs the engine until i stop spraying lol. I have attached some photos of both vin plates and ecus. My next question is could it be that the march i have swapped the 1.3 engine into has NATS? And if so do i now need to rewire to get the ecu to communicate with the ignition system? If its not NATS thats causing the issue what do I check next to locate the issue? This is where my knowledge ends with electrical all i have been doing is swap plug and play and got this far haha.
May not be in order:
The green sticker ECU is out of the 1.3 March
The Blank type ecu is out of a 97 1.0 march with no Nats
The ecu in the slot under heater box is the 1.0 ECU
White march photos of car, vin and Plate and 1.3 engine dropped in.
Red march photos of car, vin and plate and original 1.0 engine just sitting in it.
When you Car-jam both cars (plate registry) they both indicate jap imports aswell. But judging by the vin plates the White march is UK origin and the Red march is JDM correct?

I genuinely think its something stupid like that i have done during the conversion. I labelled everything prior and during the swap but i will give that a go! Will be kicking myself if it is that ?

In the UK/Europe the no nats has a different loom. The fuel pump wire from the ecu is on a different pin. (And if i remember correctly the ignition also is).
Do you have power at the fuel pump?

Recheck all connectors had a failing one (six pin below distributor, not necessarily what you have there) intermittent starts, full bog, android torch 5 minutes not longer a problem and that connector did click the first time

Hey guys thanks heaps for all your help turns out frank was right and I am a silly bugger! Had the fuel lines on the wrong way ?‍♂️? Swapped over the fuel lines, plugged the original ecu back in and engine fired up straight away! Runs mint now! Kicking myself like I said I would though hahaha. Appreciate all the assistance!

Try the 2nd relay ,in the box by the battery swap them round ?
