New to the Forum

Hello all,
I just joined the forum. I have a K11 Micra and I absolutely love it.
I've had it for a year now and have done lots of fiddling and adding extra bits on, as well as keeping it very clean and running well.
Just needs new tyres as I have... ahem... accidentally been sliding a bit, or I have "accidentally" let go of the clutch too quick...

Anyway, I've been wondering about any minor performance-enhancing mods I could buy.
I've been looking at strut bars actually, and even looking at how I could go from 1.0 to 1.3.
I also would love some alloys as the hubcaps are disgusting.
So far I've fitted..:
Nissan Rear Speakers
Nissan Front Fog Lights
Nissan Exhaust
A great radio (Sony)
A silly air intake
Nicer front and rear windscreen wipers (Bosch)
And lots of small bits.

As well as minor body parts. And I have re painted some bits too.

So yeah, any ideas for minor performance-enhancing mods? Not looking to go all out racecar, but would like a bit more from it.

Images attached..!

Her name is Cassie, by the way

Hi and welcome to the forum, looks like you have a nice tidy motor as a base for a project. I would suggest getting some 2nd hand Nissan Micra alloys from a scrappy etc IMHO I think the 5 spoke ones off the 2000-2002 SE+'s look good! :)

Please keep us updated with pics if poss and thanks for sharing!

Andy :D

get some pipe to replace your air box and run the filter straight to the intake

you dont still have a filter in the box do you?

i agree with andy on the alloys, try pick up some cheap micra or almera alloys from a scrappy

Thanks Andy!

I don't have the filter in the box, though I figured if the new one effects fuel consumption (for long journeys) I can put it back in. Not that it makes much difference.

Time for me to hunt down some scrap wheels!

Cassie looks good! Bit of an interesting air intake haha, when you changed the exhaust did you put a new stock Nissan one on?

Yeah, the air intake was a bit more for the fun value.
The exhaust was a stock Nissan one, but it was brand new. We changed the middle section, but broke the rear part in trying to fix it (removing the joint that was still stuck on there) too, so in the end I had both a new middle and rear section. Only the front is old. Quite rusty actually...

Haha has it had any effect on performance at all? I've heard almera airboxs give a few extra bhp, oh I see so its a new original Micra exhaust? Yeah I'm thinking of changing mine but it looks quite rusty so don't know easy it will come off

Really not sure if it's had much effect, but hey, it looks nice!

The exhaust comes off quite simply, the only problem is with the rust, the bolts are likely seized and will need cutting off. You could be lucky though!
