New Micra owner

Hi all. Newbie here. My son is entering a junior hot rod oval racing league in March. Got car today. A 2002 Micra GX 1.0 litre. We have to strip out all the interior and glass and fit a rollcage. Just wondering about the NATS system when we remove the wiring loom? Is it problematic? I've read that it is so I'm reluctant to start the teardown until I learn more. Any advice welcome

Correction. Car is a 2000

Yep dizzy. You can swap out the ecu for a non nats one and change the wiring to suit it. You need to swap a few pins around. Nothing fancy.
