New member, Primera P10 owner looking at possibly buying a K11 Super S / SRi

Hullo there, I do hope I am allowed to post here to introduce myself, give a bit of a backsory, my recent car ownership thoughts and basically some advice all rolled into one thread (if not I apologize in advance feel free to move, edit or delete this). I can't see where this would fit in with your intro categories that's all.

I'm sort-of new to the Micra's too although I have had plenty of exposure to them in the past so I guess I should start at the beginning...

Several years ago as a kid, my family almost always owned Nissan's (until fairly recently). It started with a white standard Primera P10 in 1992. After the family breakup my Dad had to sell it to get a cheaper car that happened to be a fairly awful 80's Cavalier also in white (and rust). From then on it was Toyota's on his side so I guess there's no need to go into detail.
However my mothers side is somewhat different. At first she didn't have her own car but after she met the man who was to become my step father, they shared a pristine white C reg Bluebird. This was sadly sold for a couple of Escort vans for reasons unknown but my Mum then bought her own car that happened to be a immaculate 1991/2 K10 Micra in a rather nice light metallic blue. Then that was sold for a white one a year or two newer and the K11 version. After that it is all a bit of a blur since it was Primera's mixed with K11's, aa Almera and a rather dull Carisma from 1997 to about 2003 (there was a rather unusual purple K11 in there too).
along with all this a few of my friends have also owned Micra's and I am amazed how many you see on the road even today. Totally bulletproof (or so they seem!).

Anyway, afterall that my mother finally got herself a new 2007 Yaris and my step Dad has joined suit with a 2010 and now a 2011 Yaris. I got the last Primera given very kindly for my 18th and now a few years down the line (4 to be exact), I am starting to think what to go for next. Insurance as we all know is a killer for anyone my age often regardless of years experience. But with so many specialists out there that deal with faster cars for younger drivers (some even for Japanese car owners). Though I don't want to sound like some yob here, I am not at all but it is nice to have the go that sometimes my Primera doesn't always give. :(
This is why I have been looking for smaller cars that are Japanese that have sporty credentials, and really the sporty K11 Micra's stood out for me. I like how they are a bit unusual and that the insurance isn't too bad apparently, though please do correct me if I'm wrong! I had also been looking into other models like Daihatsu's Mira Avanzato... etc..., Toyota's Sera, Mitsubishi's Dangan (rare though!), Nissan's Almera GTi / Pulsar VZR (rare to find unmolested ones and insurance issues i'm sure...) and the odd few others. But I do fear that spares and/or insurance could be an issue for them.

Really to summarize I guess what I am curious to find out is if it is worth while getting a Super S / SRi K11 and what are the things to look out for? Also for any opinions too, especially if anyone here owns one of these little beasties. I have yet to drive one but I am certainly interested as I may have already made clear. :)

Thanks and sorry to bore anyone with my rather dull story. :p
