New Member introduction

Hi

I'm not sure what the average age on here is but I guess at 52 I'm pushing it up a bit!
I have picked up this little 1.3 Si from a distant family member who has owned it over 20 years, dry stored and has never missed a service, all main dealer & all with both the book stamped and supporting service receipts, all coincide with Mot. The book ran out of service stamp locations 10 months ago.
Due to health issues it was offered back to the dealer who offered £50 to scrap it, so I've taken it on, its fun to drive & reminds me of my teenage years.
From ground level it looks clean underneath but I'll put it in the air next week to get a better view.
At this point I'm not entirely sure what to do with it, if theres a value to keeping it standard or to make some subtle changes to improve handling & increase performance, time will tell & I'll read through old posts to hopefully avoid asking questions you've probably been asked many times.

Id say get it crown , grease or clear waxoiled, remove the fuel filler cover, fit front fogs,
Swap the back seat for the head rest ones,
Depends how the suspension is (springs sagged or weak dampers ) maybe lowering springs and dampers ect,
But tbh a si 1.3 in green that near mint is getting to be a rare car now

Once I've got it in the air & confident it's all as clean as it appears below I'll possibly re-coat the parts like rear axle etc with rustoleum black, the suspension members look OK but I may give them a clean up & paint, most of the underbody and arches are factory undersealed.
Its done little more than 2000 miles or so between dealer services, suspension springs and shocks look very clean, the car drives like new, tight with no noises, if anything the motor needs a little loosening up.

I'm a bit confused why would I remove the fuel filler cover?

The fuel filler pipe cover likes to hold mud ect rotting the pipe and inner arch,
And better off cleaning and painting or treating them tbh
Micra underseal turns porus so better to cover it specially if it's going to be used,
Just heads up, just don't underseal it, it's horrible stuff that doesn't do any help really,

Inside fuel flap etc are spotless so all good, it's previously been garaged for the most part so very clean, I don't need the car so itl likely only get dry miles & be more of a toy, lucky if it sees 1500 miles a year?

52 as well, can’t let my ‘94 1.3slx go. 210 of the particular model left on the road. £164 this year for insurance. As long as the back of the sills are good that is one hell of a gem you got there!

Sills have been welded, looks like its had welding on last 4 mot's which is odd as I can only see evidence of rear sills having been worked on.

Had the back bumper off for a look today & all looks exceptionally clean
Are sills a biggie? Just welding in a bit of new metal.

Wow. I believed (not really )my dealer where I attemtped to order fidly bits (succeeded sometimes) they actually once said that what I ordered costed more of their time then to make money. Like 3 coin studs or 2 coin bolts. They also said once the old computer was gone so no old software to order for older cars (which I know doesn't work that way with Nissan FAST). But they also told me once, well meh car has to be 100 k miles, better 90k miles and 8 years rather 7 years old for us to want it and resell it. I can get their view on this but telling people they can get 50 coins for the trouble, I find sad. Put this on fb for as low as 400 and you will get keeping messages about it. They also could have called their drop zone for Nissans they don't want to resell and probably get 400. Give 400 to owner, sell a Nissan with that, job well done.

Welcome, That is one gem there. I can't believe how seriously good condition, that is also the colour and it's an Si!
The K11 is a great car, very easy to work on yourself (depending upon the scale of what you doing).

First of all hello and welcome, I'm 67 so I think I'm winning the old fart contest. I'm actually old enough to have bought a brand new K10 in 1987. This is a seriously nice K11, I would be more than pleased to own it. I would certainly better the dealer's derisory joke offer!
