New member and a rescued K11

Hi guys and girls

I have recently rescued from the scrap man a 1996 K11 .

It is now sat on my drive after having some large patches welded onto the cills and some new seats for the MOT .

Now for my first question .

The car also failed an MOT on emission issues , I don't know how high the readings were because I don't have access to the paperwork

So the question is , Would a badly clogged air filter cause a high emission reading .

I have done the solder job on the throttle body and it now runs rather sweet .

I am just waiting for my Motorhome to sell and then I an get the Micra in for a MOT and then start enjoying driving the tiny beast

Hi steve :)
The emissions fail is more likely to be a lambda, cat or leak problem imo, and i would test if its closed looping properly first

Thanks Frank .

What is closed looping ?

Steve
Its where the ecu uses the lambda feedback to regulate the mixture steve, you can test its working ok with a voltmeter on the middle lambda wire (it should fluctuate 2 x a sec during the fast idle emissions test)
