Need ideas for customising my micra k11

Ive recently brought a micra k11 vibe in gold for my first car. As a full time student i dont have much money to spend customising it but have access to my grandads engineering business which i am able to use materials and machinery free of charge. Need ideas on how i can customise my car aesphetically and mechanically to stop my mates taking the p***s. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers John

mian things that look better tha i did to mine were wheels and lowering, though these are the 2 expensive things to do, but keep your eye out for some cheap alloys, and springs are about 30 quid if you shop about
yours has a spoiler already?
make it tidy, and there may be a dew things to do inside, check my blog to see mine.

Didnt go work today and started work on my micra. I cleaned down the sparksplugs and engine bay and ripped the rubber side protectors off, was a right b***h to get the sticky stuff of without scratching the paintwork. Tomorrow im planning on tinting the windows, fitting a side exit motorbike exhaust and maybe starting work on the front grille however i am debating doing the grille incase i f***k it up. Thanks for the ideas
john

Buy a grill from the scrapyard.

It'll only cost a couple of quid. And prepare to do a lot of sanding, and intricate saw work.

Mines all sanded down, cut out, and has some fibreglass on it. But not done yet.

f***k it im going to do my grill tomorow, ive looked around at other peoples and think i should be alrite aslong as i take my time and keep my cool. I suppose if anything else i can buy another one if it does go all tits up cheers for advice anyway

if you want to be cheap, get an angle grinder and cut you springs, remove any crap wheel trims and spray the steelies black, and cut out your front grill, wont even cost anything near £100 to do this but its if you want to do it :p

my uncle suggested something similiar to to this except he said something about heating the springs up after to from the flat bottom only problem with lowering is that i live in the countryside and the roads round here are appauling. Im deffo set on cutting the front grill now thow it transforms the car immensly. Quite like the idea of bare steelies aswell ill see what mood im in tommorow morning so much i want to do yet so little time and money :(

try get some pictures of the little beast in all its glory tomorrow lol :)

If your after some cheap alloys m8 ive got a set i need rid of, dont really want much for them...

You could also get some mesh and stick it behind the grill, give it that extra kick. And like the others said take the badges and graphics off, personally i think it looks much better without =]

Am i right in thinking you dont have any pics up of your car on the msc? Get some up and we'll photoshop them (Y) that should give you some more ideas.

PICTURES!!!! at long last..

I can see that cracking after not very long mate, there's usually a plate welded in then just fillered to smooth it in. Love the exhaust though!

Start with subtle mods first e.g. colour coding your black bumpstrips and mudguards, lowering springs, nice alloys, tints. Theres always plenty of potential with the interior of a micra too. What do your mates drive?

i have welded a plate in underneath but i dont think i set it far forward enough have fabricated some sills up and fitted the driverside one and my mates cars are, peugeot 106, bmw 1.6i, golf gti old school style (slammed on its arse!!) and an escort van lol, although one of my mates missus drives a 1998 rek k11 s who im trying to persuade to customise :). cheers for the comments it gives me real inspriation.

Thank god I'm not the only poor student trying to customize my micra!

I don't have an engineering works though! Yeah definitely colour code the bumpers handles mirrors. Sprayed steelies are a cheap option to alloys, they do look a bit original as well, plus they don't increase your insurance!

Personally I'm waiting for the summer to do mine, still gotta mesh the front bumper and colour code. Thinking of white steelies! (white car)

quick update- Today i put some recaro bucket seats in her and they look well good, were a bit of a b*****d to get in thow had to weld the mounting brakets onto the runners. Will get pics up soon... rest of interor to come..
