Nats trouble after a flat battery

Hi all, I’ve got a classic mini with a micra engine fitted (cg13 from a 1999 car). I’ve got something wired up a bit wrong somewhere and as a result the battery ran down completely the other day, since then the car hasn’t started (it was running nicely and starting first time before), it fires but dies immediately. I’ve got the version of nats with the box attached to the antenna. The nats light blinks when off/ key in accessory position, then goes off when in ignition or start. Reading the codes gives me nats error 1401, but clearing it doesn’t fix the issue. Any help on figuring out how to get it running again would be hugely appreciated!!

the light usually flashes when its nats tom, does it fire up then die continuously ?
Hi frank, if it’s been left overnight it’ll start then die after a second or so, then it gets a bit worse every time i try after that until it’s just cranking with no start after 4 or so attempts

if there is no flashing light when cranking i would check the fuel pressure mate, if the pressure drops on cranking then maybe a pump or wiring problem ?

Ok, I’ll try to get hold of a gauge to test with, in the mean time I tried starting it without the key near the ring, and it was exactly the same, no flashing light, so perhaps my light is a bit dodgy? (It is a bit bodged together)

thanks for the help!

edit: rechecked codes after trying without a key and getting 1405 now as well as 1401, so I guess it’s a little bit different

there are a few nats threads on here if you search 141 142 143 145 eh tom
praps fit another ecu kit or pre nats ecu ?

Thanks frank, I’m looking into both of those at the moment, I’d really rather keep NATS to be honest, but if this is something that happens a lot then it’ll be a pain. plenty of threads with the same symptoms and fault codes, but I can’t seem to find a definite cause, I’m a bit worried I’ve got it wired up wrong, but it was running for about a month, so surely it must have been pretty much right. The only thing I can think is that I have been disconnecting the battery a lot, and for quite long periods, is this known to make it forget the key or similar?

if you kept the k11 ignition barrel switch (behind barrel) they are known to wear out and cause starting failure also
