well i thought i had better start this blog about the '98 march cabriolet i bought (much to the dismay of nex) a few days ago, now its an automatic and comes with electric roof, 4 electric windows, air con, driver and passanger airbags, cup holders, electric mirrors, ABS (no rear discs though), height adjustable drivers seat, PAS, windblocker, rear parking sensors

currently its all standard and im in a big debate with myself to leave it that way or modify it, cos its already a rare car and modding it might be a bad thing, there will be a few subtle changes like removing the stickers colour coding the bump strips and bumpers, theyres also a few scratches which i'd like to repair just now as i cant currently afford a full respray

there is a leak in the roof above the drivers seat where the roof meets the windscreen, but then again it is a convertible its not waterproof

i've had good and bad comments from my pals, some have just fell over laughing when they seen it, but i love it and wouldn't change it for any other micra, have a look at the pics and judge for yourself

I think the colour of the canvas roof clashes with the colour of the car. Have the roof replaced with black canvas and it'll look sweet!! (they are canvas right?!!!)

well i know officially own a mobile swimming pool, i hadn't drove the car since last week cos im using a hyundai coupe just now, i went into it on sat to find the passenger seat was wetter than the inside of a filled water balloon, i flipped the seat forward to look at the floor underneath it, the carpet was dark grey, so i touched it and then tapped it a few times and the water actually splashed

so tha car has been put into my pals garage and left with the windows down to see if we can dry it out, i'll have another look at it this weekend, see if i can get the roof sealed somehow, if its generally dry i'll put it through a full valet so i can get the seats and carpets washed to help get rid of any excess water plus they'll use a heater in it too, hopefully avoiding any dampness smell

i'll keep you lot updated on whats going on with it

other than that i have fitted jap plates that look well good

take the carpet out and dry it, to get the water out of the footwells you can take the floor bungs out and drain it that way.

i need to wait until the weekend to see about that, just now i dont have the time or space in my pals garage to do that

when i say 'garage' its more of a large hut, its just big enough to fit the march in lol

its coming in in 2 places from where the roof joins the windsreen at the passenger side, and also the passenger side rear window, i'll see if i can get pics for you at the weekend

its great, if i were you i would try to restore it to its former glory as it is a rare car and will always hold its value as long as its not chaved.

the best micras are always the clean ones that look fairly standard but maybe have nice wheels. they always sell well should you want to trade up.

good luck with the car i think its most exelent
