More like, welder is failing so build something unimportant to find the problem :p
I had the full spectrum from perfect welds to unbelievable crap... and not a single setting touched... and I cannot for the life of me work out why :(

Not keeping cable straight enpugh and wire snags, poorly gas regulator causing inconsistent flow, dodgy connection on earth clamp etc etc

None of the above. As the welds are welds. No porosity, decent penetration just immense spatter... which causes many issues
I have 1 trick to try that 9/10 gets over looked on mig welding altogether

Spatter is often cause by contamination, i.e. not immaculately clean parts
These were as clean as clean can be, wire is brand new, new smooth type feed roller so there's no divots to upset the feed, new tension roller so that's nice n smooth.
Reset the wire tension, reset backlash tension.

I'm fairly certainly now that its wire 'stickout', I've had new shrouds recently that are slightly cheaper and its the first time I havent bought genuine parts and its only really been since then. Gives about 5mm more stickout over the genuine parts

My ground is cock on Paul :)
It has copper wire wrapped around the earth clamp, something I did not long after we botched (darent say welded) your sills :)

I havent put anything on here yet about it which is strange. Anyway, H701 is undergoing a bit more work, I've finally decided to head down the Time Attack route again. I started this one 3 years ago. After having done 1 single event at the Cadwell circuit in 2011 hence the sunstrip saying 20:11 in the clock bit and the numberous stickers it had on a few months ago

Well I was going to upload photos to this post but my over eager fingers and laptop decided to click post reply rather than upload a file (things like that annoy me)

To prepare the car for next year its time to do away with the old to make room for the new

Looks very bare and unfamiliar. All set to change soon

I demand a wide track K10 with wide arches, front and rear wings (think metro rally car), twincharged engine and centre exit straight through exhaust. And flames. Many exhaust flames.

Well after my radiator issue at the Autotest a couple of weeks ago. I had to get another when I could as the lack of swaged end had me on edge when driving anywhere through fear of the hose sliding off

So new radiator time

Found out what, where and why the other radiator failed. It did seem perculiar for the pipe to have come off in the first place but after removing the pipes to take the old rad out it became apparent. You might want to see this @pollyp

Would appear the hose was overtightened on the day and eventually cracked the pipe through heat fatigue

Sits well in the old original place

No idea what this photo was for

Some adjustments need be made for the lower hose. Had to remove the front engine mount, but the rear engine mount is more than man enough to cope with the torque pitch of the engine on its own

Had to shorten the pipe

Then it would appear the photos stopped...
But the pipes are on, the fan (back to 1) positioned back behind the radiator which makes me feel more comfortable.

Still to be done:
- Need to reposition my brackets I made for the large radiator to suit the new mount position.
- Mount rad fan properly
- Re-mount oil cooler in new place
Happy days :)

Sorted. That was a worrying fracture.
Where'd u get the rad from? Custom built or special ordered?
Just a bit, that would explain the progressive pipe slip and angle on the day

Neither specially ordered or custom, I'll send you a link. Very worthwhile upgrade :)

Manifold wrapped

I made a duplicate of 1 I imported and it wasn't very pretty :p so wrapping it is a 2 in 1 problem solved scenario :D

Getting barer

seriously, this looks epic, and those welds are like welding porn, just need to see these for cg k10s now haha, does this mean you will be doing full systems at some point too?
Been practicing TIG for a while now, purely for this reason. I was lucky enough to get a TIG setup for £80. First attempt at copying and welding was poo, but the 2nd one came out alright :)
I have to make myself my own system. What I didnt account for when copying the import was the down pipe ending... I literally copied it part for part... so now I have no choice but to make some kind of custom exhaust, which in honesty I would've done anyway.
I'll have a look into CG ones at some point, not going to rush into that though, dont wanna stray from suspension too much :)

Lets see the one you made
That is the 1 I made, the second one... the first ugly looking one has been wrapped up and is on the car.
The second one and the imported manifold have been sold on. One to a member on here and one to someone at my local motor club

For someone I apparently "stalked" to block me off everything except here, yet question my work on my blog is an interesting revelation ;)

So the above is the second one yet its sold on....

Stalked? Nope
Questions? Nope
Correct

If you must know, the chap in question is coming here to have his GA16 put into his K10 and while were at it we're going to put the 421 in. Seems pointless to post it when he's coming here anyway. Is that ok?
