My latest cga3 project

After converting my 1977 Mini Clubman to Nissan power this time last year, I've made a decision to swap out my all singing full steel A series for yet another cga3.

I previous managed 116bhp from the standard 1348cc after developing it with several bolts on parts.

This time I hoping to break the 150bhp barrier.

So here's goes, the plan is

CNC ported solid bucket coil pack head
12.5CR-1
777 spec cams - 290deg 10mm lift
Upgraded springs
Forged omega pistons
Steel con Rods
All fully balanced
Freshly rebuilt
998 facelift gearbox with Gripper
Helix lightweight flywheel
Paddle clutch
36mm AT Power throttle bodies and 2nd injector mounts.
8 injectors
DTA ecu

All of the above I already have. Mostly supplied by Matt Humphries.
The short motor is built, gearbox rebuilt with new bearing.

Here's some pics of the test 998 engine.

Fairly similar in spec to my '94 SuperS, which I'm hoping to get to the dyno in the next few months.

I'd imagine a spec, such as that, will be fairly potent in a Mini :)

What power you hoping for? I'm hoping to achieve 300bhp per tonne. Cars should weigh about 510kg.

I tend to avoid talking estimated flywheel figures these days, it puts too many people's noses out of alignment within the community.

130bhp@wheels was the target in terms of original specification but you get what you get at the end of the day. Hopefully I can get close to that for an nasp build.

I'm really focusing more on forced induction these days as the driving experience and noise levels are more enjoyable.
