Mikey's micra

Cheers MB, i've got a rusty SR sitting outside that's looking like the only option i reckon...probably just a standard(ish) runabout though :p
Tell me about it, gutted that my first car died like that, but couldn't have hoped for better friends to help me out when my ass was dragging the floor, mr Stanhope, as always!! (Y)
It's not the end though....square 1....micra #2....:wasntme:

thats the attitude mate, whatever dont kill you makes you stronger (quite literally)

get the sr up and running, get the bits back of your squashed car and get right back on the horse again matey

good luck!!

Stani helped me (again!(Y)) to get rear calipers and carriers, so finally, it's gonna happen, the SR will be up and running asap....MOT, tax, insure, then lightly modify!! :p

monday this car was in one piece, then i watched it become lots of pieces, then on tuesday we took it to pieces. how life works eh?

how the hel did you not get hurt, you take up like 99% of the space in the car!!! anyway, glad your alright bud! and sorry to see it in that state.

JESUS! I was just reading you blog as I asked you a question ages ago and forgot to see your reply (IE more picsof the car) saw great things heppening then. ah, a slightly more stramlined Micra:down:, Glad to here you're okay very lucky if you ask me. I would be gutted if that was my car:down:.

Cheers folks! :grinning: Funny thing is, i was running out of ideas for the car...almost 100% happy with it and now it's toast!
I clipped a verge, went sideways over to the opposite verge and dug in both o/s wheels then rolled and slid upside down till i stopped. As i've said, just glad no-one else was involved, and that i'm still here.
I really can't explain getting out without a scratch, only wee cuts on one knee and palm from climbing over broken glass on the way out?!
Talk about "living proof"... seatbelts ftw!! :grinning:

And Stani, you forgot the part where you built most of the car! :p and there are a couple of other pics...

Micra SR in for mot on Friday...Need to sort the handbrake as it's not doing much, even at full stretch,(possibly the cams inside are sticky or need adjusted prior to bleeding, or the pads aren't moving freely in the anti-rattle clips,or the cables are screwed, or, or....) replace back box as the old one leaks like a seive, and hope that apart from the rotten sills, Mr.Vosa lets me off lightly!

Fingers crossed!

All ready for mot tomorrow :p backbox sorted, brakes sorted, all the crap of the day taken out, magic tree added for luck...and the battery decided to die. Again. grr It's on charge for the morning, and hopefully i will have a bill for welding the sills tomorrow night, and an mot'd, insured, and ready to be taxed SR!! :grinning:

Woo-hoo! Three wee bits of welding, both seatbelt anchorage points and a bit of suspension prescribed area, all expected, and a 1% below requirement service brake efficiency (both rears recording little or no effort) which i'm hoping means they just need run in!?! I hope by kicking the s**t out of the brakes for a bit they will wake up and do their jobs, and the car goes back for the re-test and welding on Tuesday...cheers folks!! (Y)
I reckon i got off lightly since the car has sat since 2007-ish with only 3000 miles since it's last mot!! :p

Well the parts from my old micra need a new host soo...janspeed, big exhaust, -50mm springs too because it just looks daft without 'em, maybe the panhard, stereo (providing it survived the flying lesson) my front grille, the black rear lights, and a new set of wheels are on my wish list Chris (Y) also the matt black spray paint will sort the faded mirrors and spoiler out!And Stani, i will be at work at 12pm, the earliest i can go in, then over to yours asap after :p here's the new beastie, and an old photo of my old car on the luckiest day of it's life!:wasntme:

Glad to see you're up and back at it Mikey :grinning:, gutting about the other Micra though .

Tense stuff...i go to pick up the SR tomorrow at 8am...hopefully with an mot!! :p
Then, if it's passed, down to the dvla for a tax disc, and i'm back on the road...when Saturday comes, a new exhaust, maybe the janspeed, the rear lights, and if time allows a stereo that works!

Next after that, the -50mm springs/strut brace, and spray the steelies black!!

Fingers crossed...again! :wasntme:

Success!! Car was mot'd and taxed at 10am, filled with fuel, stereo/backbox fitted and windscreen wipers de-squeaked by 12pm...a good start :p

Cheers Frank! (Y) i'd already thought of modding before the damn thing was taxed! More wee bits will be done at the weekend! :p

Now 50mm lower, with a 10" sub on the parcel shelf...more matt blacking to be done at the weekend if it aint pizzing it doon, mirrors and steelies...and any other bits i dont like the look of :p

Ahaa, super slammage!! :p

Unfortunately i just removed the 20 paving slabs from the back and it's even again  to be honest it was unbearable...scraping metal over every bump, tyres rubbing like mental and i was ####ting it in case i had to brake hard, really didn't fancy a slap in the heid from one of those things!
if i ever did go that low non ghetto stylee, it would cost more that the car!!
Did get a few double takes though!

you broke my headlight wires :p ha ha
looks good man alot lower looking than mines just might have to change from the 15s to something lower now to keep up ha ha

Arrrgh nooo!! What is it with me breakin stuff lately!?! My handbrake bolts (both) broke (again) when i parked the other night, cracked my wing mirror glass, (maybe i looked directly at it) killed a phone by sliding it open, dropped my own car (as opposed to someone elses...did that too) when i painted the wheel again, and if it's any consolation Mullet, my headlight is now secured by a cable tie... i broke the other one too when i sprayed the grille!! :p

Have you fitted your springs then mate? :grinning:

Fitted the steering wheel from the old car, sorted out the self cancel this time too...and since there are four bloody grills hangin about the hoose, these two have been de-meshed, sanded and re-painted black, just deciding which one to use...the nismo one is "deeper", but the red one is much smoother...choices! :p

Alloys tonight hopefully...with a bit of luck and some Mike Brewer style haggling! :p Other than that the cars only had a janspeed, induction, fly-eyes and de-cat since August :glare:

Success! Alloys bought for £65 :grinning:

When bought...

Haha, slightly!! I didn't even notice until i was about to put it back on!

The alloys were advertised as 15's, turned out to be 14's though, which suits me fine! :p
