its time to start a blog, ive been putting it off for so long now, any comments and questions welcome, no silly comments or questions and please dont slag what you are about to see off, theres no point!!!!!

well it all started last july when i bought the micra off a mate, had a few things wrong with it, got it for £100, with 6 months tax and test on it!! used it and abused it, generally trying to destroy it, went through 3 gearboxes and 2 clutches, red lining it absolutely every second i drove it, ive put 20 000 miles onto the 1 litre engine which was at 137 000 miles before i removed it to make way for PROJECT MICRA!!!!!

over the past year ive been collecting items off here to modify the micra, concentrating on 3 main areas, HANDLING, BRAKING AND POWER

having thought long and hard i decided i was going to start a tuning program and complete it in stages, so the 1st level would obviously lead to an increase in power but not enormous so i opted for the ga16de, double the power of the 1.0 litre and an ideal stepping stone on the journey to the sr20de.

so ive put a list together of parts ive aquired over the past year to carry out the conversion with minimal fuss, effort and time.

suspension - bilstein shocks with eibach springs 35mm
fabricated strut brace
side exit exhaust - not being used
pulsar brakes with drilled and grooved vented discs, standard pads
engine under brace - whiteline
front anti roll bar - whiteline
bucket seats with harnesses
race steering wheel - sabelt
steering wheel boss kit
custom driveshafts
custom mounts
custom gear linkage
mugen induction kit
full stainless exhaust system
xtd stage 3 racing clutch
fse power boost valve
ga16de engine and gearbox
honda 14" alloy wheels

thats the list as of 2 weeks ago, the conversion is now done, its currently at JDM DYNO in carlisle(kirkbride airfield) getting the fuelling set up and a few odd jobs, so i collect on saturday, when the bucket seats will be fitted, towbar removed and alloys fitted and then i will run it up to glasgow and back to see if theres any problems, if any arise then they will be ironed out in time for the japshow on the 21-22 june at santapod.

so thats it so far, ive driven the car for short bursts and im very impressed, just cant wait until saturday now!!!!

How do you think the GA16 is a stepping stone to the SR20?
Unless you mean in terms of the power..

But fitting wise all the mounts etc are different aren't they?

in what other terms would i be meaning robert, i mean honestly, the sr20 is a completely different set up, did you honestly think that i thought the sr20 would just "slide" into the ga16 modified mounts!!!!!!

im waiting to get her back, i have got pics but im gunna put before and afters on, oh and shes a sleeper so be warned lol

you not using my old front exit exhaust? lol iam making a rear 1/4 side exit at the mo for mine only standard diameter and mild steel tho...only temp till i get a 2" one made up in stainless :p

well i had the car 3 hours, went to acclelerate and the n/s driveshaft snapped, im a bit gutted to say the least

NOW, can i bolt a cg13 gear box to the ga16 and use the 1.3 shafts???

i know someone was going on about this a while back and said that the starter hole would need to be blocked off but my 1.6 gbox has the starter on the same place as the cg10, and infact im using the 1.0 litre starter motor on the ga16 box!!!!!

i know how you feel i snaped 3 shafts in 4 weeks but they did last7 mouths before they snaped at the moment mine have 18mm thick sleeve

the cg13 box will bolt on but with the box lined up with the shafts in there is not enough room for the ga engine to sit in unless you cut away alot of the chassis leg
as the side of the engine would come in line with the leg leaving no room for the pulleys

the ga is abit longer than the cg

these shafts were not sleeved, i bought them off mambo, so an 18mm sleeve will do the job then aye??? i was a tad gutted to say the least,aw well, ile soldier on!!

oh and she made 115bhp with 126 pound per feet of torque

that results in absolutely destroying a glanza turbo , what a grin i had and the boy wasnt too happy, as hes just bought a stage 2 turbo but the same old turbo owners excuse arose " oh aye shes no runnin right like, i need to get the boost turned up"
