Micra Running hot (according to gauge)

Hello everyone I need a little help and advice about my Micra.

Ever since I have fitted my radiator to my micra after 5 minutes of running the temperature gauge is just below RED.

I have emptied and refilled the system twice in the past but still having the same result.

The car did used to have an Aircon system but that's been removed but that didn't have any connections to the radiator system.

The radiator fitted is off an Almera so it's slightly larger.

The radiator is filled to the top with coolant but it doesn't feel like any liquid is in the top hose.

Could this be an air blockfwn?

cant believe nobody has replied mate. top hose so i'm thinking thermostat mate. but if you havn't bled the system then maybe an airlock. run the car from cold with the rad cap off. let it get to normal running temp and if needed top up rad. replace rad cap then see what happens. check your fan is kicking in. also when changing coolant the heater needs to be set to hot.

if the temp gauge is getting straight up near the red real quick then it could be a duff temp sensor. its located under the distributor and is single wired.

sounds like a stat problem
