Micra Profile 1L 2000 W Reg

Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2000 Micra Profile 1L W-reg with 105K miles on the clock. The seller is asking for £795. Do you think it's worth it? 11months MOT and 5months TAX left. Seller says the cam belt was changed at 75K miles and the car is in pristine condition.

This will be my first car.

Thanks :)

Well if it's been serviced regular it'll have a long while left in the engine, if your close enough to have a look without having to consider buying it there and then, then you can go check it out. Make sure it's stone cold then start it up. If you hear a rattle which stops quite quickly then that's the slack in the timing chain being taken up. I don't know how much of a bad sign this is but mine does it at around 40k, but my dads almera doesn't and his has got over 70k on it lol.

Seller has told me it has service history and lots of receipts for oil changes and servicing and 8 old MOTs. Also says there is no smoke or rattles and that it's been well maintained.

It was the high mileage and cam belt stuff which got me thinking.
