Micra immobiliser question

Hey all.
I have just purchased a lovely little Micra 1993 1.3 LX for my father.
I would like to know if the vehicle came with a factory immobiliser.
I had one myself a few years back but cannot remember if one was fitted or not.
I can't imagine he will pay much for insurance, having a clean licence and being 54 years old but a little security might help with the premium cost.

Any advise appreciated.

Regards

Steve

if you have any remotes post a picture and ill tell you if its a nissan one, or if your key has a coloured chip in it then you have a immobiliser

Thanks for the reply. Sadly I'm not picking the car up until Wednesday so I don't have the key/s to hand. There is no alarm fob etc neither.
It's just a key with a rounded black plastic head with 'NISSAN' embossed on it. Sadly that is all I can say at this time.

Thanks

Steve

After a little research I found this on the Parkers website:

Despite having an immobiliser since 1996, Micra is not the most secure small car – an after-market alarm is desirable.

So being a '93 model it won't have this.
We'll just fit an aftermarket alarm system instead.
Insurance quotes have been impressive though.
I guess that's my Dad's age benefitting him.

You should also notice a red flashing light on the dashboard (next to the hazard lights button), this'll indicate you have an immobiliser
