Melted wiper fuse

Hiive been trying to sort my wipers cause the intermittent is not working properly and I have noticed the fuse has melted, its the one behind the dash near the bonnet release handle. I do think the little black box next to the motor is buggered but would this cause the fuse to melt? and also would i need to replace the fuse holder now cause that looks a bugger. Its a 96-97 1.0 K11 btw
