Lowering, rims and air induction kit

If you buy the K+N one it comes with instructions, 10 steps I seem to remember as I fitted one myself and I am no good with cars. Springs are alot trickier I think, for starters you will need a spring compressor for the fronts. So I never bothered and thats why Im selling the springs I have which I bought and still are brand new.

hi, thanks for the reply, weel i am in uk and near london, heathrow airport area, so will it be easier to install that induction kit if so then thats fine. if someone had the photos it wouldve been great. bout the springs how much is the compressor and where can i get it from again pics would have been great as i am new to the car community. also its 1998 not 88, R reg. one laST question i bought these of a guy and brought em home and he goes they can be put on micra just like that using same screws on the old standard wheels. when i put em they go a bit inwards and stop. the holes are bigger than the original one but if you run finger inside the hole huhmm huhmm it gets a big shorter so i reckon it should hold the rim there. anways what my question is do i have to balance all four wheels before putting them on the car,
thanks
these are the rims i got,

do you really feel a lot oif difference when you put the induction kit and i guess more petrol to a mile.

halfords sell em for £20. About balancing I never bothered tbh, but balancing costs like £5 a tyre at halfords I know because I had one balanced for my MOT other week. Well unless it decides it likes going say left or right on its own you dont need balancing Id imagine.

Oh yeah with my alloys I had to buy a fitting kit which cost about £50 from you guessed it halfords. maybe cause they were weird alloys I dunno but was well worth it. Btw how much did the alloys set you back?

With putting the induction kit I havent noticed much difference, although its a lot louder than standard, but yet again mine is even louder cause I had a Ashley backbox fitted. My mum doesnt like driving the car now as it makes it sound like shes a girl racer lol!

well all four costed me £70 with the tyres, two of em are virtually brand new and the other two have excellent threading no signs of wear, three rims are in good condition and one is a average. i think i would like to sell them as i might just get 15" or something. anyone interested let me know. i will take some close up picz today, so the compressor will cost £20, no one is actually repying to question really i want a tut on how to install it cuz i dont hav a clue. hope i will find help here.
thanks

I dont think theres a step by step guide on here that Ive seen other than for a k10 and for guides you need to be a member of this fine club! Not bad for £70 I got some 15's for £130 posted with yoko tyres on :).

technically your supposed to be a member to sell stuff on here, its well worth paying £10 just for basic membership believe me!

If you get a full membership you will have access to DIY guides and if your serious about doing your micra up then join up!

All i needed to fit lower springs was a pair of axle stands (at the jack points) for the rear. The front springs only needed a bit of compressing to get them on so i didnt need spring compressors in the end :upside:

The rest though you can figure out with a haynes manual and a bit of confidence!

Thats a nice lookin micra/march, not too keen on the skirts though. You could always go mad on your existing bumpers i.e. smooth them off open up the grill, then if you lower it it will look sweet anyway without costing a fortune.

what i am thinking of is just getting some decent rims 15" so it just covers the body of the car so that it looks its lowered and put that induction kit and i am sorted. well i did buy this resistor chip thing costed me £5 but makes the micra go upto 20bhp, whats the catch,

rims are way too expensive i have £200 for rims and proper thin tyres, what does anyone recommend

please please please do some searches on this forum and others.. the thread on the "resister chips" has been covered hundreds of times. its even a warning thread and a sticky.

and by the sounds of it you may start to make mistakes that will cost you in the long run like "propper thin tyres" you dont need this tyres, you need the correct profiles.

just to stop you from jumping into the same mistakes we have all done before. please read read and read some more before spending any money....

and my tyres were £175... without the wheels which were close to £500....... £200 will get you some horrid old 14" team dynamics and thats about it im affraid. youl need to save up.

200 could get you some second hand wheels.. If you after 15's look at almera GTI wheels, or 14s there's a lot more likely to be had at that price, and tyre size isn't quite as important.

But as Ant said, use the search, this has all been covered a lot.

if you spray the inside of the windows (rears only) (much like an rc car shell) they will look perfectly ok from the outside providing its done correctly..

done badly and it will look like hell..

Sounds good but dont buy that 'supercharger' thingy!!!! it doesnt do anything!

Look this is the thread - http://www.micra.org.uk/showthread.php?t=7363 this is the one Anthony said about above!

It wont do anything, if you want to go quicker have a look in the k11 micra blogs and see what other people have done, it takes more than a bolt on bit of plastic.

Sounds like you know what you want cosmetically though so good luck and start a blog about it!

hi just wondering, basically there is problem with the car i thought its suppose to be like that but anyways how much average would a micra 1.0 litre give i checked and for every 100 miles i pay £20 to £23 and one of my mate has a mazda 1.4 and he does 300 miles a week and he only spends £40. what could it be also after seeing the posts i am having the same problem, the guy i bought the car fron claims it had a new clutch and the problem is it will rev so much at 1st gear if you hit 15 mph and again alot of rev on 2nd gear to get to 25mph, is this ok.
thanks

i used that spray on a spare car window it din stick on it well when it was running of it was lighter from top and darker from bottom, i did manage to get dirt on it so it has little spots so i guess i mite b doing something wrong what could it be,

now again the only thing left the body kit anyone know how to custom make my stock bumpers.
thanks

stupid question but can i make my micra sound like ferrari f1 without putting to much in

I have found tint spray to not be that good, cos as soon as one of your mates decides to write on the inside of your newly tinted window, it sticks

No you cant make a micra sound like a ferrari f1 :suspect: and it would take a lot of work to get something similar.

I guess the closest you could get with the original engine is get new forged internal bits and get it remapped so that you can do 10,000 rpm, but then it would probably blow up anyway after a while.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvKtnYaxqqQ - what do you think of this sound lol?

that sounds incredible that is something i want but i guess its got like 10 turbos or something, but getting that backbox and induction kit will give a sound like that or maybe half of it.

has anyone got a picture of a micra with 17" alloys and also can i put a saxo body kit on nissan micra

ok i didnt know that this site has a members micra photos and just went on it and its been such a help on what i wanted.

here are the links
can you see there is a extension at the bottom of the micra bumper, i want that anywhere i can get one of thems
http://img467.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10025783eu.jpg
http://img416.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10025926xv.jpg

if you see squarepants micra the silver one at the back there is a half rectangular stuck, how can i get that sorted
http://www.micra.org.uk/showthread.php?t=4447&page=15

is there something similar for the front.

hi recieved my air filter and its just this filter with two fitters or something it says it fits directly on the air intake. i opened my old one and i saw there is like a little pipe going to the engine or something and a weird filter in it already, anyone know how i can install it, plz
thanks

The airbox has to come off completely and the induction kit goes into its place. which one did u get in the end?

That won't make any difference to performance by the way. What size is the pipe? You need to get a oil breather to replace it if its what i think.

hi my question is still not answered is there any link on the tutorial also there is this tiny pipe going to the engine <1" thick with really small brush filtr shall i leave it like that or need adaptor

yes thats the oil breather don;t really need it as sonic said. and no there isnt a tutorial but its fairly self explanitry just remove airbox and but induction it on with hoseclip.

hi, yep sorted that out it was rather quite easy but is aitee no performace change though. today i just bought these rims they are good but not sure if they actually guna fit but i bought them anyways and if i buy those springs on ebay the 35mm weill they work on this and will the wheel touch the body of car or will it be ok. also willthe old screws from standard wheels work with this and how easy is it to steal the rims as my sub got stolen the next day.

thanks

hi so i just need different studs or something bigger ones isnt it bcuz they kind of have the same diameter the holes actually go smaller from front to back so i reckon it should fit but let me know if i need to get different dstuds for it.
thanks
