lightening clutch cover

right people, bit of a question/possible crazy thinking.

has anyone lightened the actual clutch cover?

reason i ask is ive finally finished my light weight aluminium flywheel, it weighs in at 2.7kg ish, which im happy with, but when i bolt the clutch cover on it goes up to about 5.5kg, which is still 3-3.5 kg less than the bare stock flywheel, but feel it could be reduced a bit.

id like to get the overall flywheel/clutch cover weight down to about 4.5-5kg.

so has anyone done it or seen it done, or got any advice for doing it???

cheers

i cant believe no-ones ever attempted anything like this before...

i would have thought frank might have had a go at some point lol

they are not designed with a ballast weight like a flywheel tho eh scott fwn the extra mass around the outer edge of the f/w was put there intentionally.
so there is VERY little material you could safely remove imo :)
